Alpha Pioneer Dc Plus

I am kinda stuck between Gamma Progression ES II+ and Alpha Pioneer so i am looking for some opinions to help me get through this decision.
This will be my first time buying a stringing machine so i hoping i am heading the right direction. I been hearing a lot of good reviews from this company especially in customer service area and the products they produce don't lack far behind it.
I know the alpha is really good for beginners and as I progress I would possibly look towards a faster machine rather than a drop weight so there is a great possibility I will upgrade. I am looking towards adding a wise to the Alpha pioneer later on and that would match the cost of a Gamma Progression ES II+. Would it be better if I just buy the Gamma Progression ES II+ or stick with the alpha pioneer and upgrade as i go?
Or should i just resell the alpha when i think it is time and just buy the gamma rather than upgrading with the wise?
I figure the base and clamps on the gamma to be better than the alpha so I am stuck thinking it would be a waste to upgrade the alpha.
Or maybe i should just keep the pioneer as it is?

Additional information
I break strings every two or one weeks
I plan to string for my friends/teammates
I don't plan to string for money.
I wish to save as much time and money as possible

Alpha DC plus + Wise

I use both Alpha DC plus and new Wise (with diablo and on gripper switch button, no need for a foot switch).
They are perfectly match with its mounting adapter for Wise. The only draw back is you loose 360 degree table turn. But I am ok with that.

They are a wonderful combo. :) They may cost you a little bit more than the Gamma.

I replaced (direct replacement) the Alpha clamps with Babolat style (3 jaws) clams, they are so nice to use, compared to the original 5 jaws.

I had the same dilemma like yours before. Comparing Alpha, Gamma, and Silent Partner. But After some considerations, Wise tension head is superior than the Gamma (in the similar class).
The Wise string gripper type is the same as what you can find in a lot more expensive machines (linear gripper). The don't twist/turn sharp angle to pull the string. That is very important for me, since I strung guts a lot. Plus it has true constant pull. Strung about 100+ rackets and it is very accurate.

After using Wise, you will never look back at crank or drop weight anymore.
it is so easy and fun to use.

So you have an Alpha Pioneer DC Plus (dropweight machine) that you mounted a WISE on? Can you explain how you did this and post a few pictures? I'm quite interested in the setup.

You have to order the specific adapter for "Drop weight" machine, you can only order it from Wise (********** dot com) directly.
My package came with both adapters (1 for crank, and the one that I ordered for Drop weight.

The adapter is "PERFECT MATCH". You need to remove the vertical tower brace that holds the drop weight cylider From the Base. They have 2 bolts.
The adapter sits on top of the base, Use the same original bolts to attach the adapter on the base. Then attach the Machine on the adapter, with 3 bolts provided by Wise.
Very simple less than 10 minutes installation.

Alpha and Wise comes with its tool for their bolts.

I'll post the pix if I have time. It is beautiful combo in small package for less price.

Thanks that helps a lot then. However where did you purchase the 3 jaw clamps? So you can just order babolat clamps and it would fit perfectly in the alpha pioneer dc plus clamps?

I have decided that i will be getting the Alpha pioneer dc plus and later upgrade it with a wise.

I got it from eagnas -- eagnas.com/tools.html#swivel part# PN-1012
It is perfect plug and play replacement in alpha DC plus. But you need to remove the spring from the older clamp and put it on the new one.

This happens to be identical with what Babolat use. Yes, I had access to Star 5 machine @ my club. So I could compare them.:) Some Pro stringers site (GSS site) also mentioned this. Wise is as accurate as Star 5, at least with the one in my club.

BTW, recently Mark G, distributor of Alpha, also sells this with the same price as Eagnas, just ask him if he has it in his inventory. They are in high demand.
You can call Babolat US too if you want for 2x the price, and waiting on phone for a long time. :)

I picked these up from Eagnas for my Gamma 5003. $40 each from Maxline online.

Can someone explain why you lose 360 degree rotation when adding the wise (as mentioned above)? From the picture, it is not obvious why to me. Is it that the turn table will interfere with the wise, or the racquet (handle) will (if it was the turntable, then how could one complete a racquet)? Thanks

I have a Pioneer DC+, and I'd like to do this upgrade in the future. But with these questions comming up I wonder if any of it can be believed.

we all know that victor DOES NOT provide service for other branded machines.
just how on earth DID you get those clamps??

haha

Ha, he probably just ordered it and didnt expect the guy to measure the holes in it and then go rant about how he wouldnt do it on some message board....

This all is encouraging since my Combo 710 looks very much like this machine.

How are you liking your machine?

I like it quite a bit. The slow procedure w/ the dropweight is fine for learning. When I referred to a future upgrade, I was talking about at least two years from now. But I'm really enjoying stringing on it the way it is and I'd still be satisfied with my machine if this thread is not for real.

What are you referring to when you mention the thread not being for real? I'm not clear on what you mean.

I ordered them online. :)

I had a Eagnas Flex 940 before and tried them on my Gamma. I also measured the diameter of the shaft, and they were almost the same. If you know what your buying, you don't need to ask. ;)

FWIW, I now own a Gamma 6004 and a Eagnas Plus 6500.

Some posts I read lead me to believe that someone is raising certain topics to see what sort of responses they will get. The questions aren't being asked of necessity.

I'm considering making the upgrade of adding a Wise 2086 to my Alpha Pioneer DC Plus as well. Any recommendations from ordering the Wise from TW or directly from the 2086 Professional TH webpage?

Can you post a video of stringing a tennis racquet with the wise machine on the alpha stringing machine? I really want to know how it affects stringing the racquet like about the 360 degrees turn being lost.

So I just purchased this machine. With the same intentions to upgrade a later date. But could you please elaborate on why the 360° rotation goes away. Based on the picture it seems only the racquet handle would interfere with that. I'm assuming that's what takes away full range of motion.

The first thing I notice is that the Pro's Pro machine doesn't have a clutch on the tensioner. Otherwise it's very similar.

Pioneer I has. Alpha, Eagnas, Discho, Pro's Pro - they all seem to have their machines manufactured in one and the same place.

I noticed that in the Prioneer II photo above, it shows a spring on the clamp:

The Alpha Revo 4000 also has this spring. The clamps that come with the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus do not have this spring.

How useful do you find this spring?
I wish I could buy them for my clamps (I own the DC Plus).

Mine is Pioneer I with ratchet and automatic clamps, i.e., with spring like the one on the pic. Easier to fix and release the clamps. You can add some spring at hand.
