An arm-friendly, durable string?

I've been breaking multifilaments and synthetic guts for way too long. I've always though about going to poly, but wasn't sure if my elbow with minor golf elbow could handle it. So if any can recommend me a durable but arm-friendly string that won't break the bank, it would be very much appreciated.

i am also having the same problems the polys are just getting my arm way too hard. My friend has had some succses with Wilson stamina for durability however i have never tried it. You can also try a soft co poly like Kirschbaum Pro line 2 in a hybrid.

I would strongly recommend cyber flash 1.25 (17ga) strung between 50-55lbs.

This string is soft, controllable and frielndly to the arm plus it is very durable with a topspin potential since it is 17gauge. Not to mention it is 70-80$ for a reel.

I love stamina but for me I found it way to stiff, I played great tennis with it, (didn't expect to considering it so cheap) but my shoulder payed the price. I have never had any pain and that string just tore up my arm.

I have TE also dude and have tried a lot of strings...

Firstly, CyberFlash is f**king barbed wire so stay away from it at all costs. CyberBlue is a much softer co-poly from Topspin and is also pretty cheap.

The two overall softest and best polys I have tried are CyberBlue and Weiscannon Scorpion - but if you feel any pain at all after playing then you should stay away from polys altogether.

What is your budget for a stringjob? I can very highly recommend this hybrid http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageACBAB-BVSGHYB.html
String it 2lbs looser than you normally would and add 20 Elasto Cross string savers and it will last all but the biggest hitters pretty well. String the nat gut in the mains of course. Contrary to popular belief nat gut is actually pretty durable, much more so than multis.

A cheaper option is Pro Super Maxim Touch 16g mains and Spiral Flex crosses, again with string savers. This hybrid really feels great but it is very low powered (I like that).

Yes. Note that Wilson’s K-Gut Pro (and the even more arm-friendly K-Gut) are about a new can (or two) of tennis balls more expensive than TecniFibre’s X-One Biphase or NRG2 – though the TF strings are almost as good as K-Gut/Pro.

From another TW board member in a different thread:

I string for one Big 10 player, and one top junior. This summer, I used K-Gut for the first time. Both players absolutely love it. At first I was using a tolad string bed of K-Gut. I have since gone to using K-Gut on the Mains, and crossing with Sensation. I string both players frames at 59, and maintain the same tension of both strings. It feels great, holds tension, and neither has broken a string in a month. One of them uses extremely heavy topspin. There is minor movement. I player uses a Head Radical MP, (Youtek), the other an Extreme.

Give it a try. Yes, K-Gut is expensive, but you can get Sensation for a reasonable price. Prior the Radical player had been using Big Banger Rough, and NXT, used it for two years. The other used Pro Hurricane and X-Cell.

I find klip legend mains and isospeed pro classic crosses to be quite durable as well as arm friendly. you can do a search on 'mojo setup' to find a few threads about it.

maybe because you string them too high. 60 is way hight imo. you can make almost any string durable by lowering the tension by a lot. and it will help with your elbow too.

I'd say get it strung at 55lb if you have a develop complete swing. 80 - 90% of the people with tension reduction are satisfied (seems like it). my friend went from 60 to 55, became more consistent. 5lb diff is almost unnoticeable.
