Ahhhh, not again. He gets a number three seed, it almost seems like a joke. What has he won,... like 4 matches ever in his entire career at Roland Garros? Oh well, at least he can forget about the clay for another year :)

Hmm it's very obvious from the title though and someone clicking on the New Posts will see it easily even though it's in the Pro match results section. Anyone expert care to enlighten us? :D

P.S: I have no problem with that but it happened to me in the past and that's why I told you :)

OK, perhaps I am wrong but my understanding was that you can post results in titles here, but not in the general discussion section. I wish they would just do away with the whole spoiler idea anyway like MTF, because such a big deal is made about it but anyway, sorry if I ruined anyones day with that heading.

How does Roddick stay at number 3 in the world, he got beaten again by a player just coming off knee surgery. Current ranking 125 in the world. Time for Roddick to fire the coach.

oh yeah, roddick bit the big one today. brilliant! third seed my left foot. like someone else said, he is like 4-7 at rg, or something like that.

On Roddick's big, master "To Do" list, I'm quite sure it says something like:

1 - Win Wimbledon
2 - Win US Open
3 - Pray for injury to Federer
4 - Do well over summer hardcourt season
.
.
.
27 - Buy corn
28 - Clean out gutters
29 - Hire new fashion/image consultant
.
.
.
211 - Worry about results at claycourt tournaments, which do not suit my style at all, and which have negligible bearing on my place in the standings or tennis history.


I rather imagine he's just as glad to be done with the thing, and moving on to real tennis for the rest of the year.

This result is news somehow? Roddick on clay = hopeless. Hopefully better things are to come in the grass and hard court seasons though.

I don't think that is relevant, that was so long ago, it's not like Andreev is taking the clay world by storm is it.

it was a tough matchup for roddick to face andreev on clay, the russian was too solid today and killed Rod. with his FH.

ESPN2 is showing this match AGAIN. Just over four hours of coverage so far today, and for some reason we need to watch Roddick lose twice during that time. What's up with that?

I knew this would happen and I am happy that it did. Also, ESPN is replaying the match, in its' entirety, as expected. Thankfully, Roddick won't advance further in the draw so I don't have to see mutiple replays of his matches instead of other matches. ESPN has a habit of replaying the American(men for the most part)players' matches in lieu of live matches.

ESPN always does that for the American men. Now that they are out we won't have to deal with again this tournament unless Ginepri performs a miracle tomorrow.

I know ESPN feels the need to televise every American match as opposed to other more interesting matches, but it's not like they had a shortage of matches to choose from. I don't mind though, because I forgot it was on earlier. :p

If Roddick can't win the match on his serve, and a ton of easy points,he normally loses. He can't out play a solid baseliner, with enough consistency to win. We have seen it time & time again. Add a slower court, and he has virtually no chance. This guy is a one shot, one slam, hyped to the hilt, American hope.

Well Roddick did not lose any points as this is what he did last year at the FO and anyone who knows about pro tennis knew that if Igor Andreev won it would not be an upset. You are right, everyone should fire their coach after they lose a match on that player's worst surface against a strong player...or maybe Sharapova should have fired her father after she lost to Serena Williams in the AO:grin:

the most disappointing aspect of Roddick's loss is his effort level, he flat-out gave up on many, many points. Connors would never have pulled that s*** in his day, he would have fought until the end.

Jimmy probably thought : although I didn't win here, at least I reached semis and much better than you, Roddick. ;) How many years can I train you to reach the semi in FO without all the humiliation?
