I never thought I would be saying this but after playing with K7 Red and the new Blade 98 16 x 19 v7 over a month, I finally realized that the K7 Red is more suitable for my baseline game. The K7 Red is a better platform racquet than the Blade. With 3 grams at 3 and 9 as well 2 grams on the butt of the handle with my Wilson Contour, I am up to a comfortable 330 grams with a swing weight in the high 320’s. I get easier spin, more forgiveness, better comfort and control with Angell frame. The Blade might a little more power but the control is not as a good IMO. Even with my goat string Gosen Micro 16 in the low to mid 50’s the playability in the Angell is spectacular.

Don’t get me wrong, the new Blade line is spectacular as well and one of the best players frames on the market. I don’t know, maybe the swing weight is just a bit too high for me or the balance is lacking the maneuverability on my ground strokes.

The bottom line is IMO, the Angell racquet is more user friendly and many other fellow TW members have noted that. To top it off, the Angell has better comfort for my shoulder issue. I will still keep a new Blade 98 in my bag, but the Angell is my goat racquet!!
