simple... if you dont like it, dont watch it.
its all about the tradition... get it?
I don't really agree with the "tradition" arguments. Is not playing on the middle Sunday really what makes gives Wimbledon its stature?
Wimbledon felt just as traditional and prestigious in 2004 when play was held on the middle Sunday.
They've changed the surface, so the traditional form of play has been affected.
They're in the process of changing one of the most recognized courts in tennis to put on a roof.
They've upped prize money for women.
I don't think clinging to the "no middle Sunday" prohibition on play is going to ruin tradition, and would make sense considering the climate in England and the simple fact that many fans would appreciate it.
Fine, if the tournament schedule is not behind, or only slightly behind come the first Sunday, AND, the forecast looks good for the rest of the week, then don't play.
But, this year was a joke. Seriously behind by the first Sunday, AND the forecast was for consistent rain, at least early in the week.
I'm not looking to ruin "tradition," but I think Wimbledon tradition will be fine with middle Sunday play.
