Anyone else excited about a possible Murray vs Del Potro Wimbledon semi?

Underrated overall, overrated for this tourney. You have to remember he's 2-2 lifetime at Wimbledon. I know he's playing the best of his career, but penciling him into the semis is a bit too premature for my tastes. Let's see how he does the first couple of rounds (if he makes it through), then maybe I'll jump on board. Until then, I don't put him above Murray, Djokovic, Roddick, and of course, Fed's chances of winning.

Well, one of these was to the eventual champion, so it doesn't mean much. Did you see DP's serve at the FO? He was serving out of this world (for his standards) and this kind of serving is really going to help him on a faster surface.

I am not penciling him in anywhere. Murray has to get there also. All I am saying is that it would be a fun match with lots on the line if it does happen.

Andy Murray - 1 F, 2 QF
Del Potro - 1 SF,2 QF

Whole lot of difference I see

While DP is getting over-rated by some, so is andy murray ....

And let's not forget, Del Potro nearly took out Federer, while Murray pretty much got stomped on in his final.

If we're going to use performance against Roger as a gauge, let's also not forget Del Potro's 0-6 versus Murray's 6-2.

Delpo might be better suited this year due to his improved serve. He should get a lot of cheap points that he wouldn't have in the last couple of years. That said, he's certainly not a lock for anything at this point.

Who's performed better against Roger where it counts most? Del Potro.

Great logic. Del Potro has played Roger twice in grand slams. The first time he played Fed, he fared a lot, lot worse than Murray did.

Murray has pnly played Federer once, in his first grand slam final. Murray should have been up a break in the second set. Got a bad line call and ended up losing the set. Those little breaks can make a difference.
