Anything wrong with my one hander?

Yeah but your obviously a guy who can hit the ball. You have good fundamentals and this is really important. If you are a guy who is good at playing the game, you can build the technique around this and it will come. If your smart tactically then you don't have to be the world's prettiest ball striker.

This is what the ITF are pushing these days with the game based approach to coaching. They want people in a game situation before they are in a technical situation. When the player breaks down in the game situation, thats when you can build their technique and get them back out having success again in the game environment.

I know, but I'm one of those people who is obsessed with the aesthetic appearance of his/her strokes. Before I left I would say my stroke was far inferior (I had to slice about 50 percent of the time) but it looked MUCH prettier. Now I never have to slice unless I want to, but I can see my stroke is alot uglier. That's why I'll be heading out with the video camera and working on the suggestions you guys have given me until my oney looks as pretty as she deserves to be :)

Lol for sure. Your hitting is good, when i posted earlier I came back from a frustrating training sesh and blew off a bit of steam via forums really.

And now for a simple tip for the OP.

Get yourself in position so you can take a smaller step toward the ball - say 45 deg from the net - instead of a large step parallel to the net (you will have to adjust your approach to the ball).

More weight going forward and you should stay in better balance. You rotate your lower body a lot. When you bring your back leg around (which you do a lot in the first vid), you are losing power and accuracy.
Try to hold you position after you finish your follow-through. The way you are doing it right now, you will fall over if you don't catch yourself. A steadier base will result in better consistency and may smooth out sone of the foibles in your swing which come from being unbalanced.

^^^

much easier to the eyes :)

Thanks Dozu, it was alot more powerful and heavy, but I gotta say its way harder to time because its a much bigger stroke than what I was doing before.

Oh, I liked your backhand as well, I just didn't notice that you posted a clip in your posts until a few minutes ago.
