Are Federer and Murray both going to tank cuz neither wants to face Djokovic?

I reckon the 2nd SF will be a stinker. Neither has proper motivation, because both know they have no chance in the final anyway.

If David Ferrer had beaten Djokovic, the motivation would have been through the roof. As it stands - it's just not there. It's like me telling you that you have to fight this guy to the death, and if you win - well you just get a bullet to the face - that's your reward.

Why the hell would either Federer or Djokovic be scared? Apprehension and general anxiety is very different to being "scared".

Murray isn't scared. He just beat Djokovic for the US Open.
Federer isn't scared. He beat Djokovic and Murray back to back to win Wimbledon last year. Federer has the possibility of doing it again in reverse order.

Federer would've obliterated Ferrer in the same fashion as Djokovic did. Murray on the other hand might've given Ferrer a set at best. It's all about styles.

Yep, that's why this thread is stupid, why would a 17 time slam champion be scared to vs anyone, and as we know Murray beat Djoker in 5 at the Us Open while he was defending champion, if it's anyone that's scared it's be djokovic, the OP might as well start a "will every player on RAFAS side tank because they are scared of him thread" everytime the French Open comes around.

No.

They're going to tank because they're going to wear each other out trying to get to the final.

MAndy could take Novak. But not if Roger takes him to five sets, when not only did Novak only have three, but he also has an extra day off.

Er but he's not. (ETA: actually at AO i think all players are a bit scared of Djoko except maybe Murray because it's a great surface for his game too).

Um...no. Quite the opposite. Both Federer and Murray will now try extra hard to win their semi so that they'll have the chance to kick Djokovic's butt in the final. :)

I know. Murray completely blew it mentally in that final. That's why I'm really excited to see if he can keep it together this time.
