Are the middle two mains supposed to be the loosest?

I think they are, but am just checking to make sure. My middle two mains are always somewhat looser, and i know that some people double pull on those middle two mains, at least, i saw yulitle do this in one video.. also after he sets the anchor clamp and tensions the other string, why is the next string he tensions on the same side, and why isn't the next one he tensions teh string with the anchor clamp, wouldn't this be more uniform or symmetrical and what not?

er wait, i just remembered, he doesn't double pull them, he tensions both at the same time so he pulls both of thema the same time and i think its to make it easier to set the anchor clamp securely so it doesn't slip, but anyways tahts waht i meant, not double pull..

the answer is no, the two middle mains shouldn't be the loosest. the two outer mains should be the "loosest," assuming knots are tied there However, in comparison to all the other mains that aren't on the extremes of the racquet,( the ends of the racquet) the answer is maybe/ only slightly, due to the two middle mains being slightly longer than the others. also, YULitle does not double pull his mains for tension, he double pulls to set the anchor clamp, so the two middle mains eventually end up being pulled regularly.

Also, if you're referring to string movement, it might be possible that it's because it's a fresh stringjob, so a lot of lube is still on the Cyberflash mains,

i add 6lbs tension on my last main on each side so it isn't the loosest actually, but the middle 2 mains are supposed to be the loosest then? mine do feel signifcantly looser..

it's the loosest because you're pulling it over the longest distance. strings pulled that are shorter will be tighter given that you pull at the same tension.

What machine are you stringing on? That would help to know. BTW.. they should not be the loosest...

Technically... with only the main strings tensioned (crosses not yet installed)... the two middle (longest) mains will be the loosest.

For a normal stringing job, every main is pulled at the same tension... therefore, the longest mains will be the loosest.

However, once the crosses are complete and tensioned... the outer mains will appear looser... since they are weaved through fewer main strings and only have one other main string on each side (as opposed to two).
