I think he has about a 50% chance of winning Wimbledon 2022 if his draw is on the weaker side. After that he retires.

All that is propagating this idea is this subjective and abstract notion of his 'greatness'. There is nothing from the last two years to suggest he will come back to the top.

I can't vote 'no' because it's just so final and angst inducing. At the same time, it's obvious Federer's physical condition is not suited for the very top of tennis anymore. That many knee surgeries and being 40 is not a Slam-winning combo.
There is an optimistic middle ground where I can see Federer getting to a decent enough form not to drop too low in the rankings and then just put his everything in Wimbledon. With some MAJOR luck, maybe something can happen. It's probably best if it doesn't though because weak era. At this point, playing well enough to win a smaller tournament that is significant for Roger would be amazing.

Well sport is also about this kind of epics, but of course we should be realistic and dont expect much, anything that comes from him is extra, i think we will still see some good matches from him, winning a slam or important tournament are bigger words

It’s going to take a lot of rehab and training for him to even be ready for Wimby. On top of that, it’ll take a minor miracle to be able to complete 7 Bo5 matches in two weeks… I don’t see his body holding up to do that.
I know he’s proven us wrong many times but that knee is in chronic issue territory. It’s never going away, not at 40 years old on crutches.

He can win slams, but it will require a lot of training and rehab, the process is very length for him, even for Andy.
First Fed has to not be troubled by his knee
Then he has to win small tourneys to increase his confidence and form
Then he has to play slams as well and not lose a lot, defeats will come but he will have to believe nd go one
If he does this long enough without his knee troubling him the luck will shine on him and he will get that opening.

One of my favorite players of all time. And sadly, no, he's done. I'd love to see him play some more but as for reaching the top levels again? Not likely. He'll be lucky to stay in the top 20. I can't see him getting past the quarterfinals of a major again. But I'd love to be wrong!!
Does Fed really love the sport that much or is he deluded in thinking he can win another slam ? The guy is 40 has a legacy that is untouchable, made millions, entertained millions of fans and has 20 slams. So why is he coming back ? I admire him for it but it seems strange he should be enjoying his life with the family on a beach somewhere

You have to wonder whether Roger is delusional at this point for even entertaining the idea of still being able to achieve world-class results when he's healthy again. I'm sure a legend like him is surrounded by a bunch of yes men...

Would like to see it, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen. Although stranger things have happened. Like Fed mentioned before the surgery, would it be worth it compromising his quality of life after tennis, simple things like running chasing his kids or going for a light run for cardio.
