Aussie Open 2024 tickets

Hi Guys, I'm trying to plan my first trip to the Aussie open next year. Flying in from Singapore and would like to watch both the mens semis and the mens final.

lately i've been getting ads on my instagram and fb about this website https://ausopentravel.com/

Is it a scam? It allows for hotel and tickets packages to be purchased.

But the official https://ausopen.com/ website says that tickets only go on sale on Oct 12th. So how is it that website is able to sell packages now?

What's the best way for me to get tickets to the semis and finals?

Thank you in advance!

From the AusOpen website FAQ

Ticket warning
Always ensure tickets are purchased from Ticketmaster or an authorised AO Travel agent. A list of partners is available at:  https://ausopen.com/travel-packages#tab=australia

Tennis Australia and Ticketmaster are unable to verify the validity of any tickets purchased via any other means. This includes the purchasing of tickets via websites such as Viagogo, Queen of Tickets, **** and Stub Hub.

Patrons are advised that purchasing AO24 tickets from an unauthorised seller can result in the ticket holder being denied entry to the event.

I'll ask my friend who went to see the AO semis & finals a few years ago.

btw, I am in Singapore this week. Flying out Saturday, though.
Will finally get a chance to play tennis tomorrow afternoon.

Ooh welcome to singapore. Where are you playing tennis at? At the hotel court? Weather is super humid. be prepared to sweat a ton lol

My friend got his tickets from Ticketmaster, which is the official ticketseller for AO. He said if you buy them as soon as they go on sale you can get good seats.

Don't buy from a reseller or broker. It will be more expensive. He had great seats for the semis and finals the year Federer beat Nadal.

Sigh i got in the virtual queue 30 mins before 12pm Melb time. had two browsers open, one on my laptop and one on my mobile

I chose the Mens final and Mens semi final night to queue for.

When 12pm arrived, mobile was 3000+ people ahead of me in the queue and laptop was 5000

When my turn arrived Mobile only suggested super far away seats in the outer ring, like section 42 or 24. I wanted near seats on the inner ring

Laptop browser just got permanently stuck at the queue page and never advanced beyond that..

So in short, i didn't manage to get anything..

I guess i shall try again on the public pre sale, but probably all the good seats are gone.

Been there, did that. Just modern day high tech favoritism.

Either get tickets through a travel company or on the secondary market.

IMO, you should have just bought the higher level seats when you had the chance. Speaking as someone who has attended the U.S. Open (as well as the Cincinnati Open and Washington Open), you can still see what's going on just fine from further away seats, and the 3rd level seats in Ashe Stadium at the USO (where I've sat for matches at Ashe at the USO every time except once) are further away from the court than higher level seats at Rod Laver Arena.

One other thing I'll note - IMO, attending the middle rounds of a Grand Slam (in particular the 3rd round, or first Friday and Saturday) provides more bang for the buck than going to the semifinals or finals. You can see some matches up close on outer courts, and with a Laver Arena ticket, you can watch all matches on any court except the 1) other session that day at Laver Arena (unless you buy tickets for both sessions) or 2) matches at Court Arena.

Cool! Yeah but due to my limited days of annual leave, i can only go to Australia for about a week. So i have to prioritise the matches that i want to watch.

I managed to get 2 tickets for the high level seats today during the presale, but I let my friend have it. Got into the online queue at 11am, 1 hour before the 12pm mark. And when 12pm arrived, i was first in line to get in to buy tickets, but only the upper level seats were available for purchase.

I shall try again next year using the ausopentravel.com website. My friend from sydney said it's legit after all... sheesh.

He booked his tickets way back in July, with accoms and all. Sitting right in the lower level ring.

a question on AO tickets:
  • If I buy let's say Laver arena ticket for a day session. Can I stay _all day_ including the evening session on the grounds (obviously I will not get a seat on Laver for the night session)? Basically does day-session Laver arena ticket acts as a day-long ground pass ticket?
  • if I have a night session ticket to let's say Laver arena - I _cannot_ get onto the grounds till like 5PM, right?
  • If I buy a daily ground pass. Can I upgrade that ticket (on the day of the pass, or perhaps in advance) to a Laver (or other reserved seats arena) ticket? If so - what is the cost of such upgrade?

Also, where should I look for a place to stay in melbourne, preferably relatively close to the tennis centre? Hotels? Airbnb?
