French Open

has anyone been to the French Open before? I'd really like to go this year and I want to go to the men's final.

If I read the ticketing information correctly on the FO website, the tickets for the men's final include the women's final and maybe semis? and they're not on sale for the general public until March.

so does anyone have any tips on ordering tickets, places to stay, etc? I probably should think about booking the flight/hotel ASAP…..

I received some helpful info here, but had posted in the wrong forum.

Roland Garros has fairly easy access to the Metro.

Both Metro lines 9 and 10 are within walking distance, a bit of a hike (maybe 10 min?). Just follow the crowds towards the grounds.

So staying anywhere in Paris that easy access to those lines should be fine.

I went during the first week a few years ago and had a great time.

OP, search this section - there are a number of threads - including one from last year - about ticket strategies.

I went yrs ago and enjoyed it (although it was the first 2 rounds and I saw all blowouts). As Stitch says, the grounds are Metro close.

I went last year. Just make sure you buy the tix from the official French Open ticket site. Otherwise, if you buy secondhand, you have trust that the seller changes the name on the tix to yours.

Also, keep an eye out to when they go on sale. I think it was around 7am France time on the date that was announced. This will help you get better seats.

Good luck and have fun.

I found getting FO tix to be very difficult and uncertain, so went to the Italian Open instead. Tix were inexpensive and very easy to get. Great seating and matches.

Rome, too.
