Australian open mens Semis on different days

I find it truly bizzare that the men's semi finals are played on separate days at the AUS open. I remember a few years back Djokovic beat Federer on the Thursday in 2 hours or so, then Murray came out the next day and faced a tough 5 set match against an in form Raonic. That gave him less time to recover and he looked spent in the final. Similar arguments could be made about last year's final, however I still think Fed would have beat Rafa in any case last year. Every other slam has their semis on the same day. French, wimby, US. Will the AUS ever change this?

All slams should have the first Sunday as a rest day, like Wimbledon does -- but ticket sales will make that impossible to happen.

Every year we have this thread. Having 1 day off is just fine. It doesn't seem to make a difference in the end. For instance Nadal won 2009 after a 5h marathon played on friday.
USO's super saturday was a bad schedule. AO schedule allows me to watch both SF, so let's keep it that way ;)

I think it would be better if they played both semis on the Friday. Both women's semi finals are being played on the same day = same amount of rest. Cilic and Edmund could both take the rest day today/tonight, and come back ready to play Friday the same day as Federer-Chung. Guessing it's got something to do with money/profits for the tournament coz otherwise it really doesn't make sense.

The AO system is still better than "Super Saturday" which the USO had for 30 years, where the men's semis were played on Saturday and the final was on Sunday. They only stopped that crap around 2009-2010.
