No wonder Djokovic won so much in 2014-16. He was playing opponents who were past their prime, while Federer's competition were mostly in their early 20's and at the peak of their careers. It also makes Djokovic's competition look better on paper because Federer's peak and Slam wins had come and gone before he ran into Peakovic, while Roddick, Hewitt, and Safin had to contend with Peakerer throughout their own prime years and had their wins denied.

Agree, It cannot be denied Federer faced younger and fresh players and Djokovic faced older, but very experienced players.

I wouldn’t say all of Novak’s opponents were past their primes. Wawrinka’s prime was 2013-2017, and I’d say Murray in 2015 and 2016 was prime Murray as well.

Murray was prime in 2015-2016 definitely. Just not as good as in 2012-2013, IMO.
Murray in 2015 was totally hopeless against both Federer and Djokovic, and even Nadal destroyed him in their WTF meeting. Lost to Wawrinka in their only match as well. If that's prime Murray then it is honestly sad he is being called an ATG here.
