I've been playing this frame exclusively for about 4 months now, so would like to give an update which far surpasses honeymoon stage.
Havent even hit another racquet in this time as there has been nothing new from Volkl/becker since altho some nice things are in the works/planning stages. Also declined to hit the latest from the Wilson and the Head
For me, the tale of the tape was going to come when the temps soared. A matter of swinging a racquet fast enough at the end of my sessions in the heat. The heat indexes have been well above 100 and I'm not having any trouble with batspeed at the end of my sessions..the barometer for me is if i am able to hit over on the backhand and still make the 2nd serve jump at the end of my sessions. Contrast that w. the bb10Mid and B11Standard which beat me up at the end. I would have happily stayed with the B11Std if it wasnt so much work for me on 2nd serves
The only drawback to this frame I have seen is that I sometimes wish for a slightly larger sweetzone when the dirt is in particularly foul shape. I think the frame can cost me a couple points and some weak/short balls then and even the occassional lost point otherwise. Otherwise, I am really happy with this frame and what I am able to make it do. terrific on everything, and particularly the volley as I can really pierce the clay on the volley (best volleying racquet i've ever tried). I also like that it is a bit less spinny than the 98's I usually play so that too allows the ball to pierce the court from the ground. I can tend to spin the ball too much off the ground at the expense of the ball moving thru the court. The tradeoff is that those short angles with big net clearance are a bit tougher to come by, but that is a good tradeoff. It isnt the best at the sliced backahand ever for me, but if you step on the sliced backhand it will do its job well. For me the Gen1 and DNX9 really excel in that department. Particularly the dnx9 since it is lighter in weight
I also just love the ball feel. I am still using the Mojo setup (perhaps for a couple years now) and have settled in on 57/62 for this time of year, but keep one looser and one tighter.
Hope all of the other 11Mid users are still doing well their sticks too. later on.
