After trying numerous combinations of poly/multi hybrids and not finding the perfect one, I'm thinking of trying some strings I've never tried before in putting together a poly/poly hybrid in my Gamma T-7 racquets.

BTW: currently trying the Black Code with Babolat Addiction crosses and the Black Code is sawing (I believe) through the Addiction at a rapid rate.

The Tecnifibre Black Code is out as a Main...but I assume the sawing through the opposite string wouldn't be a problem if I used the Black Code as a cross?

So, in order to find something that plays awesome and obviously looks good, I'm going to a poly/poly in an orange and black combination for my T-7 racquets.

So, do any of these black polys off 'softness', spin, tension holding, touch/feel, etc. If not, is there one?

Thanks.

Can't believe you want a Poly in that low powered frame. How did you like your recent demos?

Tried the Yonex RDiS 300, Yonex RDiS 100 Midplus, Babolat Pure Storm (old), and Volkl Power Bridge 10 Light....liked both my Gamma T-7 and Becker Pro much better than all four. The only one of the four I found better than average was the RDiS 100 MP...really liked it for the 30 minutes before the string broke. They sent me a replacement, played with it last night, and it just doesn't seem as solid or offer as much power as I first thought.

Plan on sticking with the T-7 and finding a string combo I like...however the Volkl Power Bridge 9 has some great looking specs ;)

Cool, I have my PB9 in today, I'll let you know how I like it by week's end. It specs out almost exactly the same as the T7 which I liked, except for serve and it was just too underpowered. The 66 stiffness should offer some nice pop, but less that the PB8 which had too much juice for me as did the Becker Pro.

Man, you must be the first one to try that puppy out...you must have been waiting on them to have the demos in stock...look forward to your thoughts on the racquet. I'm loving the T-7, actually serve pretty good with it, but am always looking for that extra pop at times. Like the Boris Becker Pro but still haven't found the string combo that soft on my arm.

A combo of the softness and control of the T-7 and the power of the BB Pro and the PB9 may be perfect...great weight and balance from the specs.

Again, look forward to your thoughts.

My favorite black poly for a main - MSV Hex 1.10 and 1.18. Great performance at a great price.

After the results I got from the ''non round" Tecnifibre Black code (cut through my crosses like 'knife through hot butter'), I'm a little fearful of going with anything other than a round string.

Is it a soft feeling string? Would it work well as a cross for another type of main?

Thanks for the input.

I bought one, I just got back from working out and managed to sneak in 10 minute of serves on an open indoor court at my club. The frame served really good, both for spin and the hard ones. Feels very solid. Playing a match tomorrow so we will see.

The hex profile doesn't do much as a cross in my opinion, but I do notice a difference with a edged string in the main. As far as being soft, it is to a degree -- but in my racquet (18x19 MG Rad) it plays stiffer than something like SPPP. I use it at fairly low tension (ranging from 54-50lb mains and 2 lbs less in the cross) and I don't have arm issues, but it did bother my arm if I strung higher. So not sure it is an ideal cross. I use Hex 1.10 as a full bed right now.

Tried MSV Hex 1.10 and 1.18 with Forten Sweet 17 and Gosen Micro 18. Just didn't have the same feel and control as a full bed, so I just bought a reel of Hex 1.10 and restring every 10-12 hours if the strings last that long.

I tried MSV hex and didn't like it. To me it didn't bite into the ball as much as BC or Cyclone and it was a bit mushy and springy for my taste. I know many like it but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Head Sonc Pro is a highly underrated string. Has excellent pop, semi-arm friendly and will not shear at the top as so many polys do. The black also plays slightly crisper than the white. Great stuff actually!

Zo twist 16

Zo twist 16 gauge is a really great string, gives the same kind of feel as syn gut with better durability. Comes in black or natural. at first it feels extremely lively, almost as if your over hitting the ball all the time. But after 30-60 minutes of play with this string you really produce some brilliant spin and power.

Are you sure you're not massively exaggerating? I've played alot with BlackCode 1.18 in the mains and not in a million years would I describe it as 'knife through hot butter'.
