Best grip for really sweaty hands?

I sweat a lot, and sometimes when I play, the sweat on my hands rotates my racquet, giving me a really bad shot. Which grip works the best for sweaty hands?

I ditto the TournaGrip answer. I have tried many overgrips and this is the only one that helps me. If you are still having problems, I would try the Prince Grip Enhancer. It goes on as a gel and dries quickly into a fine powder. Some think it makes for a poor grip, but I find it is the only thing that helps me...I can still sweat through a TournaGrip. The only way you'll know is to try it.

Best of luck!

As with all of the above, Tourna. Nothing really compares to its performance when wet. You may find it a little harsh on your hands when it's dry though (although the likelihood is, you won't). You may want to buy the longer length of TournaGrip though as IIRC, the standard one comes up a little short. I believe the longer one is the same price. Also, if you liked it, you could always get a roll, get the length you needed and save a small amount of money.

Wilson Pro Soft works great for me (the orange color). It doesnt fall apart easily and it seems useable for a long time.

If it's a really bad day, I will use a second racquet for a few games and it seems like the grip drys fast. When I use other grips once they get wet they are pretty much finished.

Tournagrip might work better for not getting slippery but it's harsh and it's flimsy and doesnt last that long.

most definitely tourna grip
perfect thing
i use it and i guess ill never change
its not very durable (i have to change it every 2 or 3 sets) but its not expansive and it absorbs sweat EXTREMELY well

javierlw is so wrong<up above>

Well then is every of the many people out there who say they like Tournagrip, but it doesnt last long. (that it may last 2 sets for them and then needs to get replaced)

Maybe you dont sweat much so it last longer for you. Or you are playing a lot of softball tennis.

Have you ever tryed Wilson Pro Soft Overgrip? It's fairly new so it's not going to have as many fanboys like you mentioning it.

Tournagrips been around forever, and some people only mention what they happen to use.

I sweat more then any other person on earth so what works for most people may not work in my situation.

It doesnt work for me. Wilson Pro doesnt work either, and SuperGrap seems a tiny slightly bit cheaper and less effective then Wilson Pro.

They work for about 4 games, then they become soaked and then it's pretty much over.

At least with the Pro Soft overgrip I can let it dry for a couple games and then pick it up again. (if it's over 100 degree or excessive humidity, I usually rotate racquets on changeovers)

I just tried Tournagrip + wristband + towel + rosin. This works awesome for sweaty hands. The rosin makes a big difference. I had been using Supergrap before, but it gets wet very quickly and once it reaches that point, even rosin + towel wont help

The best one is Sportsmaster. They are no longer in business but they were based out of Texas. I wish I could find some that hiding someplace. This was the best overgrip for sweaty hands.

Tourna for your situation.

I don't sweat w/ my hands at all. Maybe a little if its really hot outside. That is why Tourna has never worked out for me, and it slips in my hand under really dry conditions.

I play in extremely hot, humid conditions and have found that a wristband really helps stop sweat from coming down the arm to the hand. A good grip can help only so much.

I don't know if any of you have tried the dunlop Hydramax (sp?) but its very very good. It generally lasts a few weeks I teach everyday with it. I have found that it tears apart very easily when completely dry though. I get them for free so nothing better in my opinion...

TOURNA extra tacky is great....it absorbs all the moistures from your hand while retains the tacky grip...great great great :)

Try a Western Grip... I hear they are phenomenal for sweaty palms

I just put in an order at a local tennis shop for my new racquet, and when I pick it up, I will purchase Tournagrip. However, there is the Tac II and the original one. Which one is better? I know this sounds dumb, but I like the Tac II because it comes in white which matches my strings (lol), but I'd get the original Tournagrip if it is much better. Any thoughts?

Why not try both? If you ordered a new racquet from your tennis shop, I'm sure they will be willing to throw in a couple of overgrips for free :)
But incase they don't, here's my experience with both of these grips

Original: good DRY feel and does the job perfectly. what i don't like about this grip is that it does not last as long as other overgrips and it starts to peel after a couple of hours.
TackyII: GREAT tacky feel to it and absorbs lots and lots of sweat. It retains the tacky feel even after a few sessions.

I think the most important thing is to try both and see which one is good for you. If you like tacky feel, use TAC II, but if you don't like the tacky feel, use original.
