Best of the Next gen have really stepped up this slam

A shame their final task which likely involve trying to take out Nadal, in which they will fail. But Tsitsipas and Medvedev in particular have been playing great. Zverev I see getting to the semis, but never know if he’s gonna fold along the way or afterwards. Not only has the best of the next gen stepped up, but the wonder gen is also doing pretty good, with Sinner and Musetti still in the draw.

I don’t really see how Med gets this far if nothing happened to the surface. Either he is really special or the French Open is not playing like usual. But I guess that would also mean that they could beat Nadal or Nadal may not even make it past Djokovic. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what people say the court played like this year.

side note, if Fed didn’t withdraw, the big 3 half of the draw could’ve been the most lethal ever at the QF stage. Too bad. It may still be the most lethal ever at the final 16 stage, but does it count with the Fed WO?

This is a disaster for Djokovic. He will never break 20 Majors now. The young guys defimitely now improving pretty quickly and have that swagger.

It only gets tougher but I think Djokovic plays at a high enough level to where he is still a notch above the younger players for most of the match. The Fedalovic peak still is far more consistent than next gen peak.

He will almost certainly get past 20. Maybe even past 25.
He has no equal on Wimbledon and AO. Plus this year he will be the big favorite at UsOpen as well.

Fedal i think are teetering. Djokovic has 12 months left i think as a slam contender.

Medvedev made the semis of Monte Carlo and the final of Barcelona in consecutive weeks in 2019. I know his RG record was poor, but the idea that he didn't have the game to make it to the quarter-finals at Roland Garros when he didn't have to play any top-20 players was always going to prove a fiction.

Lol just no. Right now he is at best 3rd fav for USO. And way Zverev is playing he will be a monster at W.
You overrate Djokovic. This is not 2011. Fedalovic are declining. Next gen and wonder gen are improving. Soon the Big 3 will not be winning majors.

Think about it seriously. What did the next gen do? Last slam Novak one was in STRAIGHT SETS in the final. It was not even competitive.
How are next gen improving? What have they done at the slam level?
Novak/Nadal won't give up that easily. I dont' see anyone good enough on AO, Grass and Clay for at least 2 years.

Nadal has to absolutely win this RG 2021. If he doesn't, then slam race will be OVER as Novak will have 20 by the time Wimb ends with French and Wimbledon won.

NextGen to dominate soon. Big 3 can't win WTF anymore, they struggle to win the Masters and by probably 2023 they will stop being favorites for the slams. We won't see Fed back in the Top 5 or Bull in the Top 2, and Djokovic is losing #1 this season. A new great era is getting born.

2021-2022 is where the Big 3 can add more slam to their tally. Fed really needs one Wimbledon here, Djokovic the other Wimbledon and one HC slam. Bull will get his RG as usual.

People doing their level best to beat the aging process. Older is better. AI is better. Sure enough at some point in the future we'll be left with a bunch of literal cyborgs playing ping-pong style fast tennis on ultra-slick inter-galactic courts reinforced with titanium or something. Never ending rallies

Lol, Nole is in formidable shape still. Dull's the one who should be worried, has one more slam left. Nole needs USO and Wimbledon though

They’ve been making semis and finals of slams since AO 2019.

No. Wrong way round. Nadal has 0 pressure. He has 20 Majors. All the pressure is on Djokovic. Fail to win FO it is game over for him. FO a free hit for Rafa.

If Tsitsipas, Medvedev are next gen then what gen do Dimitrov Nishikori Raonic etc belong to?

It’s debatable that they are even next generation being all 22 and over and Meddy being 25.

We can make a bet that he will no way in hell get past 25. No way in hell he will win more than 20 to be fair.
He may not even get there. This is his best chance to get super close.
As i said in my previous opinion. The big 2 have at very max this and next year. I don't see them winning any slam after that. And saying all that, both Wimbledon and USO are far from decided.
Nadal would probably win this RG, and if he didn't get a easy draw on USO he is done with the majors in my eyes. I might give him some chances for next year RG, but that is all.

I can agree about Nadal. But how do you think Novak will get restricted to just 20?
He has ZERO competition in Wimbledon and AO. AO - he won in straight sets in the final this year. In Wimbledon his main rival is a 40 yr old guy.
Zverev is a headcase. Titspas hasn't even made a slam final yet. Medvedvev made 2 - but choked in AO 2021.
Thiem is already AWOL. He may be even done as a legitimate threat.

Who do you think will prevent Novak from winning Wimb 2021, 2022 and 2023?
Who do you think will prevent Novak from winning AO 2022 and 2023?
Who do you think will prevent Nadal from winning RG 2022 and 2023? (other than Novak)
Also Nadal/Novak might win UsOpen 2022/2023 as well.

Where does next gen come in? They haven't shown anything at the slam level.

Bro Wimbledon is Wimbledon. While he won 2019, it was a gifted win from 38 years old Federer. So making it out, that Novak is unbeatable exactly at Wimbledon sorry but i don't buy it.
Saying all that Thiem also pretty much surrender him the title at AO 2020.
Depends on the draw he may have super easy way to the title, or he may lose it even early. It's also depend on what grass will be, a super slow one, or a fast one.
At AO he was close to the exit with his famous injury, that i don't buy it. And i don't buy it, because i`m a athlete myself for my whole life.
Also at that advance age, 1 year time, and/or even 6 months could be huge. Just look Federer from example.
After Wimbledon 2017, he pretty much s*****. At 2018, his game was garbage compare to 2017. Absolutely garbage. It looked like he aged with 5 years.
When you are at that advance age, it happen overnight.
Injury could happen, and its all gone.

As i give myself room i have said that just don't see any of the big 2 win more than this and next year. And saying this, there is no way in hell they will win all the slams. If i got to bet i see Nadal winning this year RG, and he won't any more slams. At the very best next year RG, but i think he won't be able to.
Now on to Djokovic i still don't see him winning more than 2 slam. Maybe he will win 1 more this, and at best 1 more next year. I don't think he will win AO next year tho.
