Nadal and Monfils have striking resemblance when they play each other, Monfils is a little more extreme though.

I came on here specifically to post a video of this point but you beat me to it :D.

Definitely the best point for me, i actually started a thread a earlier in the year for greatest point ever (which isn't really possible to pick) and this was my vote.

Not only is it an unbelievable point, but it's the 2 greatest player's of the era, battling on one of the biggest stages and pushing each other to the limit - pretty much their whole rivalry summed up in one point. The passion, the skill, the tension.

Of course lots of videos can be posted, such as when Rafa played Verdasco or Monfils, and while the actual quality of the points can be debated, the extra factors that the Roger v Rafa point brings to the court :D makes it one that could be used in years to come as one to define this era

^^^^ it's the best point for you because it's your favorite player against Federer.
Monfils did the same thing and his was 50 stroke shots.

Oh man, is no one going to post any Roddick v. Federer in the Wimby final? I thought that, along with the Nadal/Verdasco AO SF, was one of the most exciting matches this year. Roddick was playing out of his head, and the difference between him hoisting the trophy and Fed winning it again came down to just a few points. It was epic. Let me see if I can find anything...

one point that I really liked, but haven't been able to find, was from the USO Final this year. Del Potro did a huge smash and Federer answered it putting his racket behind him! knowing that the point was clearly for Del Potro. Even though Del Potro Smashed it again and won the point, the answer was awesome

Another one would be Roger's passing shot on MP against Nadal at Wimbledon.
He was under so much pressure,it was a make or break situation,so much on the line for both and he comes up with that beauty.
The thread is called Best points of 2009.

Wimbledon 2009 is ver depressing, Don't rub in the fact roddick lost. It hurts to see someone want something so bad just to find that it was stolen by the Roger.

Nadal would feature prominently in all the top shots from this year given how well he started and played in the first half of the year. Plus his defensive/retrieving style lends itself to these outrageous 50 shot rallies.

If you look closely at his points, there are so many junctures at which I feel that were he an aggressive minded player with slightly flatter shots, he could have closed points earlier. He works those points more than he has to and the day he cannot run around like that, his impressive shots are going to vanish overnight.

That said, he's an incredible athlete and produces some amazing shots (for us viewers at least). I prefer the kind of shots Roger used to produce at the height of his powers. Purposeful, pointed, well-constructed and going from defense to offense in the blink of an eye.

you summed it up really good :)

no way monfils was even close in that rally. this federer-nadal rally has "only" 14 strokes, but every single one was somehow great. there were almost no "normal" shots, they both try to go for a winner or preparing a winner and the shots are awesome and very precise.
they only thing monfils does as good as nadal did was the running. he's really fast too ;)

That Federer point against Delpo was quite impressive. At one point the image paused, because I have a slow connection, and the ball was basically behind Federer, who was about 6 meters to the side of it also. It was quite unthinkable from that position that he would be able to do anything, let alone even get to the ball.

Does anyone have a link to the Nadal-Verdasco point at the AO, where Verdasco hits a ridiculous banana slice and somehow Nadal hits a winner on it?

The first link -- fed vs. delpo -- is exactly why I wish they would show the lower views more often, you get such a sense of pace and spin... that is totally lost in the overhead. That clip is fun to watch, gives you so much respect for their playing.
