Best Supplement/Vitamin/Food to Combat Soreness

Is there a tried and tested vitamin, OTC supplement, or even food that does a good job of combating post-tennis soreness (especially in my legs)? I do stretching, which helps a great deal.

Maybe I should be taking a protein shake post-tennis? I'd rather not spend money on some designer product, but wanted to know if there is any wisdom in this area.

Make sure that you're getting enough electrolytes as lack can cause cramping and I think that it's needed for recovery.

For me, the best treatment to tennis soreness is an extra hour or two of sleep at night for two days.
