Texture String with Natural Gut, expect a short life on the Gut...
If you have used gut before (full bed), what tension did you use?
If you have used rpm (full bed), what tension did you use.
Best to have a starting point of some sort.
Or what tension have you used for a med-firm copoly, full bed?

I have never used gut full bed but my current string is head sonic pro at 50 pounds and I have used rpm 16 at 50 pounds also. I have a APD 2013.

I use Pure Aero now and used APD before
I always play with VS 16 gauge Gut main & RPM Blast 17 in the cross.
I like Gut firm about 58 pounds and RPM about 55. A bit tight the first few hours and then perfect after a few hours of play. I have a constant pull stringing machine.

I am stringing it right now. I have gut at 55 in mains and I am thinking about 52 for rpm crossses?? or 50 crosses?

That is fine, you can even go up a tad in the gut.
Just again a short life.
I only suggest a nice slick round copoly when paired up with gut. But it your stringbed and your cake...
Best of luck man...have fun...

I've found RPM Blast and VS to be a very good combination, though used it with the gut in the mains. RPM has a very slick coating, and the edges aren't pronounced at all. I actually broke the RPM cross before the gut. Initially I thought this was a freak occurrence, but someone I hit with uses the same combination and replaces his RPM crosses on average three times for each set of gut. All breakages. We both string our own, so it's not just one defective reel.

I haven't found this to be the case with any other gut - Pacific Classic, Tough Gut and Klip Legend all broke before the RPM. I got good life out of them though.

My go to string is Cyclone 16G at 53LB on my ADP 2013.

Want to try Klip Legend 16 on main and Alu rough 16L on cross.

Any one has restrung ADP with Klip/Rough? If so, please suggest the tension for both main/cross

I've used Klip/Rough on an ADP 2013. I wasn't the biggest fan. I prefer to lower powered poly to help bring down the pop of the gut mains, while contributing to enhanced spin potential. It's also easier on the wallet to go with something like Cyclone as the cross. I like 58/54 tension with this set up.

Thanks!

I have few sets of cyclone. Will use it for cross instead of rough.

With hybrid, do I loose any spin or control I get from full poly bed?

Yes, at least I did. It's a trade off. I got less spin, but increased comfort and much better feel. I love the hybrid when playing doubles because of the feel at the net.
