Bouchard ranked 1 by next year.

Yes you heard me correctly. This time next year she will be ranked #1. Serena is on the way out. Just saw her previous matches this year and sure she can take out unranked/low ranked players with ease but when she's face with a top 30 seed she struggles.

ESPN is still pushing Serena hard but they better saddle up to the next big star and that's going to be bouchard. Watching the matches I don't see any other up and coming players that has the grit and determination of play that bouchard has.

Especially when she's down like today..she fights and fights...and of course she's hot as hell.

How did she develop so much game in such a short while ? I remember last year 2013 Rogers Cup, she got a wild card and was smoked by Kvitova 3 and 2.

Unbelievable that within 6 months that she has improved so much.

It was widely believed Stephens and Robson would have more success.

Love her aggressive game style. And I agree within twelve months she will be no.1 she must currently be playing top 4 tennis even if her ranking doesn't currently reflect that.

Yep. She is headed towards number one for sure and winning slams. The only question is when. Her determination is what will get her there.

Hahaha this is hilarious stuff, this girl has lost 6 first round matches this year and won her only title beating no players in the top 50. She's a long, long, long way from being #1...

Rome was not built in a day. The important thing to look at is she has made the SFs of the last two slams and has made at least the QF of Wimbledon. She may not beat Sharapova (assuming Sharapova defeats Kerber) in their QF match but she is getting closer.

The thing that separates Bouchard from the rest of the pack is her determination and composure. That should take her far. She is certainly heading upwards, how far remains to be seen.

Top 5....Number 1 no. Too soon and it feels like she has to prove it by beating Sharapova and others 10ers in a consistent basis. She will be number 1 day....based on mental prowness.

Her SF AO and FO were good runs but the only top ten she beat was Kerber.

When she beats the likes of Sharapova, Serena, Halep, Radwanska....then I would believe her asdency to that postion will be soon.

LOL, at this point I think folks are practically teasing you with all the Bouchard hype. Not that it's hard, you're like a mouse outside the gates of a well insulated cheese factory.

Try not to go completely crazy.

I dunno about this...Serena is finally looking like she's 33 years old, Maria has turned into a one surface wonder, Radwanska got mauled yesterday. Halep is the one I agree with you on. I'd love to see those two match up in a Major.

Based on the current landscape of the WTA, Genie seems really close. It may take more than a year, but I do think it will happen.

has she played anyone of the caliber of kvitova since and won? she hasn't beaten the top players. not all her fault though.

If Bouchard keeps making semi's and quarters in Slams and Serena keeps exiting early then base on the point system alone she will become #1 and doesn't even have to win a GS tourney.

So midaso, get ready cuz I'm going to say I told you so next year.
