Bow Brand Natural Gut

Looks like Bow Brand gut is becoming available again. Can anybody compare the Championship or Professional to some other guts? I really want something similar to the now discontinued BDE gut which I found to be softer, more powerful and more playable than Pacific Classic or Klip Legend.

BDE blows away bowbrand. Bow brand doesn't seem to handle moisture or humid conditions very well and they start to fray very quickly

The best is VS, it's just a fact. I always liked BDE, but I believe they are out of business, or don't have a distributor in the U.S..

I don't think they had a distributor in the US for a while. They have always been available in the UK I believe. Not my favourite gut but good quality. The Championship is softer than Klip Legend (my favourite) for sure, not as durable though. Frays quickly but plays well. Feels more "springy" than Legend

Are you referring to the "new" Bow Brand or the "old"? I used to order direct from them and ~ a year ago they stopped selling as they had problems with their material supplier (I can dig up the e-mail if interested).

About 3-4 months ago I got a new e-mail saying they were rolling out new Gut. I haven't tried it, so I don't know how it compares to their old Gut, or any other Gut for that matter.

I received an email a few months ago from Bow Brand, that they were testing a new supplier of their gut and that it would be out soon,as they wanted to be sure that it was up to their standards,(it was going through a playtest at that time), and that was about 3 months ago, and at that time they were not manufacturing any for sale ,so the new Bow Brand Gut would be different from the old one, so people here should throw out any responses here on dislikes of it as I am sure not many tried their new Gut, as it was most likely old baches that remained.

At least Bow Brand was testing out the durability from their supplier before it went to market.From sounds of things,Global needs some quality control.

Ah that's interesting. I never realised they went away, I just thought the packaging changed in the UK. They must have had some old stock in the shop I go to then as they never stopped selling it, just the packets changed at some point recently. I haven't tried it since the packets changed effectively so opinions formed on it prior to the change are likely meaningless.
