Breaking Asahway

Does anybody have a problem with popping Ashaway's Monogut 16 gage?
I thought it's supposed to last but I end up popping it frequently.
I have even popped several rackets not on the face of the racket, but seemingly at one of the knots.

I play 17's. I love it, but I used to break right in the sweet spot. I wrote an email to Ashaway stating that, they said to me that's weird and sent a sample of Monofire to give a try ??????

I really love Monogut but they don't last long, on the other hand they are really cheap.

if ur breaking it at the knots then it could be that the knot is pulled too hard or not the right knot. i've also experienced that happening after my 1st poly stringing job...haven't done it since.

Is it breaking at the knot during game time or while stringing.

I strung it myself at about 54. and the knots were hard to tie, but didn't really have a problem with it breaking during play time. However i should mention tat i played 4 sessions, about 2 each, and my arm would be dead after i played. So i had to cut them out..

But if they are breaking at the knots, the knots maybe incorrect, or u are pulling them too hard. You should try to keep the knot as small as possible as you are doing the knot, because i found it difficult to get the knot in the gourmet, when i made the knot too big. that might work.
