Can the Zepp 3d serve analysis be used for forehands?

newyorkstadium,

I have not tried this so I can't answer at this time. However, I will charge up my Zepp and see if I can try some time this week.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

What is your favorite and most helpful sensor?

Just to add to eaglesburg question. Do any of the TW playtesters have a sensor attached to your racket? Which is your preference? I've never tried one but they all look useful in there own ways. Thanks.

newyorkstadium,

I went down to the court today to test out your question about Zepp. I found out that the 3D serve feature can only record serves. It will not record forehands or backhands and the data you do get from it will receive is skewed and doesn't make sense.

Each sensor has its positives and negatives as they each have unique features. If you are interested in knowing what each feature is, we created this chart to compare the sensors:

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/SensorGuide.html

As far as playtesters using the sensors on their own, not as frequently because we have Playsight Smart Court on our indoor tennis court that can record all the data without having a sensor. However, we do have a playtest sample of each sensor (Zepp, Sony, POP and PLAY racquet) that we will occasionally bring out to use. We are currently playtesting the Babolat POP and will have the video review up in about two weeks.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

Thanks Brittany. Does it show the 3d graphic of the forehand swingpath, with the green line and red marker for ball impact? That's all I was looking for really. Just to see the swingpath and angle I hit the ball at. Also, totally off-topic but have you guys considered selling a postal or kitchen scale to measure rackets? I don't know if it would sell well but just a suggestion.

newyorkstadium,

It is hard to describe what it shows. It does show a swingpath but not a correct swingpath. Since the app is only designed for serves, it shows the swingpath over the head and it is somewhat of a hybrid between a forehand and serve. I would not recommend it for analyzing forehands.

Currently, we have no plans to carry a scale. However, I will pass along your request to our buyer.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW
