Can we PLEASE have a Cage 5?!

Seriously, it’s long overdue. 5 years now! We have had 3 different of Nike’s cushioning shoe come and go, 4 different vapor models, and no pros worth mentioning use the shoe. These things need to go. I don’t like them all that much aside from durability, they’ve been outclassed by ASICS and the barricade. We desperately need an update to this shoe.

And something that looks less like an elfen shoe, also without Rafa branding plastered all over it.

The Cage 3 was a perfectly reasonable design and actually looked more like Rafa's shoes...what happened?!

The cage 3 was such a good shoe. The traction was mediocre but everything was great. Breathability, durability, support and stability, and the silhouette and design was great. 2019 was Nike’s last good year of designs.

Interesting, the cage 4 was the very first nike tennis shoe I bought in forever and it's only because of its design. We all like different things.

Right? The opening colorway for the Cage 4 was F U E G O.

I wish I stocked up :(

The 2 and 3 were great shoes.

The 4 is on another level. If you haven't played in it, I would try one before crapping on it because of looks. The energy return from that heel design isn't marketing BS. I play my best in these shoes, but I play in the GP Turbo mostly because it leaves my soles/fat pads in a lot less pain after a crazy match

I have used the 4. It’s an underwhelming shoe in a market of durability stability shoes that have great cushioning without being tanks (gel res 9, barricade 13). Looks are ok but it’s gotten stale for me as the color choices have gotten quite bland in the last 3 years. The cushioning on the 4 is just behind the times in regards to having a tank of a shoe that also doesn’t leave your feet aching, and I’ve completely moved on, but I used to be a Nike loyalist.

For real.

I liked the 4s. They are above average and definitely don't suck. Not great either though but more than serviceable.

But just the sheer amount of time that has elapsed since it was released surely warrant a new model. 5 years!?! Come on guys.

I think Nike is just ready to end this line when rafa's career ends but the bull is just refusing to retire which means the consumers are stuck with these now :)

For 2019 they were definitely the cutting edge compared to the competition (gel res 7, solecourt boost, new balance in general) but everyone has surpassed them. The forefoot zoom was nice and the rocker things was interesting but it’s just stale. This is about as long as the barricade 7 was around when Djokovic used it (2012-2017). Nike should take a page from Babolat’s book and either use a different mascot for Rafa’s signature product or revamp it.

If it ain't broke...

I still play better in these than anything else so I'm glad they are still around.

Plus if the GP Challenge vs the beloved Turbo is anything to go by, a Cage 5 might not be an improvement across the board.

IMO the combo of durability and "cornering performance" is still hard to beat. It handles a lot lighter/smaller than it is

The cushioning is great and so is the movement but they do feel like bricks...
I was surprised how heavy they were first time I wore them. A few months in and I still notice it...
