Hewitt did everything better than Ferrero except hitting forehands.
No he didn't. Ferrero was faster and his BH was better as well

Hewitt got the most out of his gifts until his body began to give out. It is to be admired. And if peak Federer did not emerge, he would have won even a few more things until his physical decline in 2006.
Safin has all the talent in the world but is a nut. Talent + hard work + right attitude trumps insane talent I guess.
Ferrero was really only ever that suited to being a potential great on clay. He could have won more on clay if nerves didnt get the best of him sometimes at RG in 2000-2003, and if his body didnt give out after that, but he was never going to be a steady #1 or dominant type player on all surfaces.
Ferrero stated that he preferred to play on hardcourts.
He may have preferred to play on hardcourts, but he was a way better player on clay.
Meh. 3-2 record including 2 matches on grass. Nothing to stick your chest out over. Unless you’re Lleyton Hewitt.Yet he won his slam matches against Del Potro, hehe.
No he wasn't. It had more to do with most of the other guys sucking on clay. I don't think he was any better or worse on clay

There isn't really much difference between the quality of their backhands, forehands or their speediness around the court. At the end of the day, Hewitt has the winning head to head and the better career achievements and I'll take most of his shots over Ferrero. No he didn't. Hewitt is easy to hate. But in reality they are pretty similar players.Heuristic is definitely a bigtime Hewitt hater. Trying to insist on Ferrero being a better player than Hewitt on anything but clay, and hitting all shots better and moving better besides on clay, LOL! And based on the other thread a biased Roddick fanboy. Must be emotions tied to the very good rivalry those two guys used to have.
Here are some links to stats. Although a small sample size, they provide some interesting insights. Not much differential between Hewitt and Ferrero in some departments.

I think the wrist injury was 2004. Only three of his 21 matches analysed were post wrist injury. Some of his matches against Hewitt were analyzed.

Hewitt lied in an interview talking about his most memorable wins, mentioning beating Federer in tHE 2003 DAVID CUP. "Roger was the nr 1 player at the time" /LLeyton Hewitt.
No he wasn't...
Ferrero was a GREAT player. Definitely an all time-great underachiever
