changing grip size on a wilson pro staff 6.1. 100 - help needed

a woman who trains with me bought a pair of those rackets a few months ago and likes them a lot.
only, she always liked one grip better than the other. both rackets came in grip size 2. so i checked the width of the grip and sure it enough it differs. i took away the basic grip on the one racket she didn´t like and it says 3 underneath. so obviously they put the wrong pallet on.
other than going to the shop and complaining, do you have any tips how to make the grip smaller. or is it possible to change the pallet on a wilson.
your help and advice is much appreciated

If its only been a few months, she should go back to the retailer and complain about the difference in size. Then ask for an exchange to a size 2. It's no different than ordering a shirt online and finding out that they shipped the wrong size to you.

If you go the sandpaper route, use fine grit and do the same number of strokes for each surface. Something like 3 strokes, turn, 3 strokes turn..measure.

Another option is to use the Bab Skin Feel or Prince Resi Thin replacement grips. They are about 1/2 size smaller, but if you pull tight, the size reduction is much more than the 1/2 size reduction.

Prince makes a THIN replacement grip that is nice and actually makes my racquet feel one grip size smaller.

thanks for all the answers:)
the best option is obviously to get an exchange racket, we´ll try that first
the thinner grip won´t work 100 per cent but is better than nothing
sand paper is difficult because the pallet looks a bit different than normally

just an update with a happy ending.
Wilson refused to take the racket with the wrong grip back, reasoning that they had no guarantee program to cover such circumstances.
the shop where she bought the rackets did take it back though and
exchanged it against a new one with a correct grip size:)
needless to say we checked the grip immediately

again, thanks for all the responses
