Clash 98: underrated racquet of 2019.

I too have read all 25 pages. Great thread. Great OP.

I’ve been using OGSM 1.30 @54 for both my Clash 98 and 100 with excellent success. Not for string breakers and strings do move. Similarly, the Prince Premier Control is very good at the same tension with greater durability but not as crisp.

@Parabolaholic - thank you for sharing your journey as I found it useful for my own, moving recently from the PS 16x19 v3.

I've strung up my Clash 98 V1 with Volkl Cyclone tour 16 at 45lbs. I haven't used a poly for over a year due to injuries, so im taking a risk. However, just bouncing the ball on the racket feels extremely soft so I'm hopeful.

Just played my first league match with the clash 98 v1. It felt really comfortable and I didn't notice any weird launching of the ball. I only really play with flexible rackets, so I don't think the clash felt that unusual.

I'm happy so far, I just hope my shoulder feels ok when I wake up tomorrow.

I feel like they are totally different racquets. The V2 is like a much stiffer version to me. V1 was much more comfortable and the V2 has a lot more power. I am a little surprised Wilson changed it so much since the V1 was such a big seller. Not that the V2 is a bad racquet, just the V1 was so different in a good way.
