Sampras qualified for it 11 consecutive years. He won it 5 times and made the finals 6 times. In all 5 of his championships, he lost one robin round match in the tournament. Interestingly, on three occasions the guy that he lost to in the round robin he went on to defeat in the final. In 92, 93, and 98 he went undefeated in the round robin, but then lost in the semifinal, final, and semifinal.

Amazingly, in 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, and 10, he went undefeated in the round robin.
