Hey, looking for a new racket and I'm strongly considering these three (given feedback from searching, reviews, price). What can you guys tell me about them?

For reference, my past rackets have been:
Hyper Prostaff 6.5
Prostaff 6.0 85
Hotmelt 200G

I have hit with the POG mid (brother's), and I enjoy it every much. I'm looking for a larger headsize now though, and it seems the POG OS could be everything I've ever wanted. Not too many people like the NXG, so I'm skeptical about that, but a lot of you guys seem to enjoy the Diablo. In short, I'm looking for a player's racket that is right around this price range and is more forgiving.

Thanks in advance!

If you like topspin, my vote goes to the NXG OS.

I havent hit with the other 2 contenders and it would be unfair.

But BUT BUT, from a somewhat newb. perspective, the POG OS has been very good to me, in comparison to the following past racquets i have tried over the past 1.5 year

Prince Graphite Pro OS
Prince More Game MP
Prince Diablo MP
Prince Shark OS
Wilson ncode asian 95
Wilson prostaff 6.0

I have played extensivly with the 200g and the pog os. In fact I have 2 200g's and a pog os in my bag now. The biggest difference for me is the pog spins the ball a lot more than the 200g. I really keep it in the court better with the pog.

For me the pog is more forgiving, vollies better, does not serve as well, the 200g has a wicked serve.

I've demoed a lot of different raquets and find myself always going back to the pog os. IMHO, there is not a better raquet on the planet.

Thanks for all the feedback, but a lot of this doesn't really answer my question...

I'm aware that they all have great characteristics, but how would they compare in relation to the rackets that I have played with/each other? I know it's kind of tough to ask since I've only hit with the POG out of the three...but what do you guys think?

I probably should just demo them all...but I don't want to pay shipping >_<

I've tried all 3. The NXG is very similar to the 9pt HL version of the POG, but it comes down to whether or not you like the extra length of the NXG. I haven't tried the 5pt HL POG, which is probably serves much better than the 9pt HL. The diablo is ok, but it had a cheaper feel. The NXG has the plushest feel and most consistent ball response of the 3, and it responds well to lead, regardless of how much you like.

Could it be that the NXG doesnt get much love because a) the more technology line on the overall didnt get much love and b) the paintjob? I know i realy dont dig the nxg paintjob.

The Diablo Tours are much better than the Diablo XPs. I am assuming you want an oversize, and the Diablo Tours do not come in oversize. I still think you should demo a Diablo Tour MP. Making the shift from oversize to MP is no big deal. I really did'nt even notice.

I am still going back and forth between the POG OS and Diablo MP. The NXG is an interesting racquet too.

On a side not, I've never owned a mid size. I demoed a POG Midsize, a 93, this week and I love it. I am so confused now.

Guysnamed...

Actually, the Diablo Tour OS DO exist.

Just to let you know.

Getting your hands on one is a different matter ;)

You're not gonna like the XP. You play with traditional frames and the XP is has more of a power design compared to the other frames you listed.

The NXG is probably an OK frame, but I agree that it's ugly color probably contributed to it's demise. I'd go POG. But if you really want to try an NXG you could probably get one dirt cheap used. Might be worth the gamble before stepping up to buy some POGs.

Hi

I agree with "travlerjam" and "ljubicic". I played with the POG OS (borrowed) and the NXG OS "responds" quite similar, the main difference (beside the weight distribution and length) would be the feel or feedback you get from the string bed (maybe its the air handle, I wonder how this racquet would behave without it), it has a very soft feel, good control good ball pocketing, excellent spin and its very comfortable to play with, the OS doesn't seem to be OS, I played the MP, and loved it too, they are so cheap that I'm planning to get a midsize.

I love the NXG OS (Have 4 of them), and I would definitely recommend it.

Never played with the diablo. But I played with the PS 85, and THEN we have a whole different story. I find it is very difficult to compare the NXG to the PS85, basically you have to play differently with both. I mean you will probably have to adjust your technique by going from a PS85 or the others to the NXG. The NXG is very string sensitive, so you'll have to go through some string testing.

Transition from 27"(PS) to 27.5" (NXG) doesn't hurt. Most players can adjust to it easily (most not all).

I hope it helps. The NXG is a bargain so many good features (by the way, I love the look) in my opinion this a very underrated frame.

Unfortunately I grew up playing with a PS85 and even though the NXG has so many goods, there is something in my way of playing that doesn't adjust, so I'm using an ncode 6.1 90 and feel more comfortable. I'm still with the NXGs though and I use them very often.

I will suggest the POG OS, I am hitting with it for 2 weeks now, just keep in mind this model is still selling for more than 25 years now, as posted on the TW page, so I will think it twice.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback :)

However, I have to express some concern for the maneuverability of the rackets stated. I have been leaning towards the POG from the get-go, but I'm considering the other two because they have pretty significantly lower swingweights compared to the POG (Err...well the Tour Diablo MP does). Is this a big issue? I guess, is there a noticeable increase in racket head speed of these two rackets compared to the POG?

HATED the NXG. Worst frame I've ever tried.

With a length mod, the Diablo XP rocks. Killer topspin, great control, booming serves. But it's not overpowered at all. Buy one cheap, hack off the extra half inch, string it with a hybrid gut or multi/poly setup at around 60, and go rip it up. For all-court, hard to beat. The regular Diablos are really nice, but more demanding.

That said, the POG OS is also a great, great racquet. While it's not the best at net (but still good), there's nothing better for crushing big top strokes from the baseline and the feel is sexy as hell.
