Congratulations to Federer on winning his 70th match at the Australian Open.

He joins Connors (2), Agassi, Lendl, Becker, and Sampras as the only players in the open era to win 70 or more matches at a Grand Slam.

If Federer reaches the fourth round of Wimbledon and the U.S. Open this year, he will become the first man to win 70 or more matches at three different Grand Slams.

Really impressive stat. But I'm sure Federer doesn't care about such records. Like he could reach 80 wins by reaching 3rd/4th round for next 3 years.
All he wants is the trophy!
Good luck to him.

Those 70 matches result in 4 AO and 1 final. Whether if he likes it or not, it's an incredible feat. If it's that easy then anyone can win 70 matches at the AO.

70 wins is impressive indeed. That's equivalent to 10 years of winning the title!

The more surprising thing is Federer did it first on his low profile slam. I would have thought he'd have more wins at W and the USO especially at W with his 7 titles there. Even prior to this year he had more wins at Oz with the same number of appearance as the USO and 1 appearance less at W.
