Coria testing new Prince raquet

Today I saw Coria doing a light training in Madrid. A Prince rep came to gave him a new frame and he plaid with it during one hour. I tried to obtain information on the Prince stand about it and they only said to me that it is a new experimental model with a new power generate system. 16 mm black frame without crossbar and with an orange metallic material at 12,3,6,9 positions. Name on the frame: Prince Experimental as previous one. After that I was lucky to see it again while stringing on Babolat stand and I could check that the metallic parts has big elipsoidal holes instead of the traditional ones where the string pass. Coria looked surprise with the stability and high power on rests.
*Sorry about grammatic. Spanish language.

For someone's first post, you deserve a great deal of credit. Others usually post some crazy unbelievable story which ruins their future on these boards. You have done a generous thing my friend; so welcome.

lol BTW, seems like they should have had this out a few weeks ago to try and stop Ferrero leaving.

I doubt if they could have kept Ferrero from leaving. Word is from the Prince family that he was not doing so well in the win column, and they were not wanting to pay him what he wanted.

You guys should be careful about divulging R&D specs. I don't want to be a kill-joy, and it is interesting to hear new specs etc becasue we all enjoy racquets, but these companies spend a load of money and effort developing racquets, and whilst allowing a player to use a new stick at practice on a public court might "give the game away", i would advise against posting pictures of these prototypes.

Thanks for the advice, but I think if companies were really concerned about leaks they would do their testing on the private court at one of their executives' estates. As in the auto industry, some leaking of info well before the release of a product is frequently desired as it creates buzz and anticipation, particularly for those considering a purchase in the coming months who might then delay the purchase if they think there's something special in the pipeline.

Yeh I wouldnt be suprised El Diablo. At the Adidas International a few years back, I was watching the Williams sisters hitting up, along with heaps of other people (and heaps of kids). A wilson rep came up to Serena and asked her to try their 'new' childrens racquet, which was also on sale from a stall at the centre. She started smacking balls for about 5 minutes with it, and came off saying it was a great racquet. I asked the rep about it, and he said it was just a paintjob of her racquet, and they'd got her to hit with it to try to get people to buy the racquet. It worked, because there was a queue at the wilson place for most of the day.....so i think Prince wanted Coria to be seen using 'another racquet', just to create a bit of interest amongst people just like us...

This is the most unconscionable and blatant use of a paintjob by a manufacturer to increase short term sales of a racquet I have ever heard of. Basically, fool these poor kids into thinking that if they spent the big bucks and bought this racquet right now, they could smack the ball as hard as Serena can. Hey, if Serena can use it, it must be good...... How despicable!!! :x
