Crisp Natural Gut

I'm looking for natural gut strings with crisp feel and wonder if someone can recommend me a few to try. I've tried Klip Legend gut 17g and it plays pretty nice, but that's the only gut I've used and dont know how it compare to other gut in crispiness. Thanks.

legend gut is considered "crisp" , compare to other brand gut...
i found armourpro is crisp and lower in power...

Legend
I found "crisp" can be a highly subjective term.

I have tried Babolat Tonic+ and Kilp Legend uncoated.

I would put the Legend on "firm" side and Tonic+ on the lively and crisp side. I mean between two. Compared to synthentics they both are on the soft and lively side.

Just for my reference - Where does Babolat VS team 17g place on this scale? Crisp? Firm? Whatever other traits a gut might have?

VS team is softer than legend and has more pop.
legend 18g is crisp.
armorpro is very low in PWR, stiff. durability is excellent

Hard to say.....

This is hard to say as you do not mention what gauge. A 15Lg will feel a lot "crisper" than an 18g.

The latest from the USRSA tests give Grand Slam Gut 15L(uncoated) the stiffest natural gut rating out there @ 129, followed by Babolat Tonic+ Longevity @ 119, Unique Tourna Gut 16 @ 119, Babolat VS Touch 15L @ 118 and Bow Brand Championship Gut 15L @ 116.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your search.

Thinner gauges usually feel crisper than thicker ones. You've got it backwards

I wouldnt pay much attention to what the USRSA says about things of this nature. Do you know how they measure string stiffness? Also their tests are inconclusive because they often dont test all of the most popular strings

To the OP: The gut strings I've played with include VS, Bow, Legend, and BDE Perf. all 17g. Of these, the Legend plays the most crisply. The others play about the same crispnesswise as I recall and make for a more jumpy stringbed. Because the Legend does play so crisply and a bit less powerfully, I suggest only a gentle prestretch and not going crazy w. the tension

wow... thanks for the great suggestions guys. Really appreciate it.

I recently got myself a C10 pro (after reading pretty much all the threads I can find about the C10) and right now am very happy with it. But since the frame and strings are all new to me I want to make sure I have the right string choice for the frame. Currently my setup is ..... the MOJO RIG !! (what else can be the best string choice on a classic Volkl frame ;-)?) I'm still getting used to the new frame and the string setup (M56-X59), but I start to experience some poly-like spin out of it, I dont know if it;s because of the frame, the strings, or the combination of both. So far I like the feel, comfort, spin, control, and power from the strings.

btw Mojo, what are the playing characteristics of the isospeed pro? crisp, spinny? also, in theory, do stiffer strings feel more 'crisp'? Thanks again.
