Customize HEAD grip 5/8 to 3/8

I have an old PT 280 head racquet.
It is in good shape except that the grip size is 4 5/8 and too big for me.

Any ideas to drop the grip down to 4 3/8.
I have a broken microgel prestige MP 3/8 to get the HEAD pallet.

I have never tried pallet removal on a racquet before.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

There are plenty of articles on pallet removal. It's quite easy, just be careful and use a hair drier / heat gun. They are rather brittle and can break easy.

changing the grip will be a lot easier to do correctly than attempting to alter it plus you may be able to sell the old one on again.

Someone on TW recommended soaking the handle (minus grip and butt cap) in hot water. I've tried it and works very well. Soak for a good 20 min and you can remove the pallets by hand.
