Cyberflash 1.20mm vs Big Ace Micro 1.15mm

Hey guys, I'm trying to chose between these two strings. They are roughly both around the same price and wonder which one is better? I currently use the big ace micro, but it breaks often and I was wondering if the Cyberflash 1.20mm would feel the same as the Big Ace Micro without losing playability or performance of the big ace micro? I've played with cyberflash before but can't remember from it as it was too long ago hahaha. :?

Not to seem indifferent or inconsiderate even, but you say, "I'm trying to choose between these two strings..." and of the two you currently use one, so you know how that plays. My question is why don't you simply pick up a set of the Cyberflash and try it? I mean, it's not like you're asking about the play characteristics of a string that cost $25 - $30 per set. Moreover, there seems to be more than enough favorable comments about Cyberflash that imo this thread is unecessary.

I've tried both. They are very similar in terms of spin and durability (maybe CF lasts a little longer). But the big difference is in the feel.

To me the CF 1.20 has a nice crisp feel. The PS BAM 1.15 feels a bit softer and thus slightly duller, but pretty good for a poly. I tend to like crisp strings, so I like the CF 1.20 a tiny bit more. (If Toppsin made a CF 1.15 or smaller I would jump on it.)

Another string you should try is MSV Focus Hex 1.10. (Softer and more feel than the BAM and even more spin.)

i prefer BAM. the others didn't have the feel/pocketing of BAM. suggest u do a string search here to confirm.

have found that using a syn gut cross extends the string life. full poly doesn't last as long for me.

Because I can't find it in that diameter within my country and I'm not gonna bother paying shipping from USA. And also, the diameter I'm asking about it different from many that have been used in the reviews, so their views might not play the same. And also, I was simply asking if it would play about the same with a bit better durability? I'm asking how cyberflash compares to BAM, not asking how BAM performs. So please, if you can't contribute to this thread, don't bother posting.

Yeah, I was considering MSV Focus Hex, however I can't seem to find it in a reel, and was wondering that since its hexagonal shaped and 1.10mm, won't it last shorter than BAM? Also, how does it compare to BAM in terms of power?

I used to play Cyber Flash as my main string. IMO, Big Ace Micro was one of the strings I considered "similar" in feel/spin/etc. Nothing significantly better ( or worse) that would make me switch to it. The only other factor would be price and as you say, they are about the same price. However, it went dead for me fairly quickly (about half of the play time of CF). It's possible that the regular Big Ace gauges might have more life but I haven't tried those.

for what it's worth...after hitting with cyber flash this summer, i wanted to immediately go out and buy a reel of it...it's good stuff and you can't beat the price...

compared to BAM, Focus Hex 1.10 didn't last as long, or have as much feel and had less power.

Didn't mean to offend ya, Ronny, but your opening post seemed void of...well, common sense. However, armed with the information in the quote above your curiousity about Cyberflash stands to reason.

Cyberflash is very stiff like ALU Power. If you like a stiff stringbed you will like CF. If you like a soft stringbed you would prefer the BAM. Its comfortable even at 64 pounds!

Yea. Maybe so. I call CF 1.20 crisp (rather than stiff) and BAM 1.15 soft.

Take your pick.

Which one would you string on a youtek radical mp? I think I might wing it and buy a reel of either...sounds like I can't go wrong with either one.

i just strung my youtek radical MP with a full bed of cyber flash 1.20 mm at 60 lbs. -- seriously, it's soo soo good...i'm kind of mad at myself for forgetting i had a reel of this stuff...haha

haven't strung up a YT yet but strung a HL modded MG Radical MP with BAM mains and Titan (syn gut) crosses for another player. the player and i agree that it hits better than the Topspin CB hybrid.

these conflicting posts probably aren't helping. suggest you do a string search on CF to help with the decision. :)

yeah, i think im just gonna stay with my reel of BAM and order another, but try a set of 1.20mm CF if i can find any. as for syn guts, do you guys think spiral flex would make a good cross string?

Spiral Flex is a decent cross string or go with the PS Titan for additional softness. i use those 2 regularly tho Titan seems to get used more because of the softness. also Gosen OGSM 17g works well as a cross.

BAM is the best poly I have used if comfort is an issue. It does everything else well also - although it does start to move a bit after a while if strung at low tensions.
