Ugh Tipsarevic is losing 2-0 to Lacko who is not even in top 200. Why did they put him to play when he is not fully recovered and Troicki is in much better shape at the moment. I just don't get it.

Thanks.

BTW Tipsarevic managed to tie it after being two sets down. It is 2-2 now and 6-6 in the 5th set.

Is he still dealing with injury or Lacko just playing out of his mind?

Not really able to watch. Just following the score from time to time. He was not in the team originally due to injury but he joined later after he was cleared by the doctors. I still think Troicki should have played instead of him this time.

Currently Janko is serving for the match at 7-6 in the 5th. He just wasted 3rd MP and it is 7th deuce.

EDIT: Finally Tipsarevic wins 6-7 4-6 6-4 7-6 8-6 after 4 hours and 18 minutes.

I would not be surprised at all if Andy Murray plays doubles tomorow. The doubles is crucial to the tie and Murray had a short work out against peya. Melzer had a longer match with bogdanovic and he is playing the doubles tomorow so i dont think murray needs anymore rest to take out melzer. Hutchins is a good player but with the Murrays together it would really take the pressure off with a win. If were being honest Bogdanovic cannot be trusted to win a live rubber especially a deciding one so it would be better to go for it in the doubles.

Hutchins and J Murray are playing for UK. It just started.

Also Djokovic is not playing doubles for Serbia as it was planned. Troicki/Zimonjic are playing. I actually like this change.

Austria wins the first set, Murray is so much better than Hutchins so Hutchins serves first in the 2nd and is broken, what is that all about?

Pretty much as expected Melzer/Knowle trash Murray/Hutchins 6:4 6:3 6:1.Hutchins played a decent match but Murray couldn`t get anything going.Knowle was the best on court while Melzer had great returns

I'm surprised that Andy didn't play for some reason. This tie was like the tie where you knew doubles would be of the upmost importance even before it started. Now, that means, unless Melzer can find some way to upset Andy, the 5th rubber will be live. The captain must have a lot of faith in Bogdonovich.

Though, I guess the outcome may not have been different with Andy playing with his brother. I just think it would've given GB a better chance.

Bogdanovic is not much of a player but against Peya he has his chance. It could be that a match between two mediocre players decides the tie

Britain desperately need another singles player that ranked at least inside the top 100...

Switzerland and Serbia all advanced into world group.

So far Gonzo, Fed and Wawrinka are heavy weight players that takes on both singles and doubles.

Switzerland and Serbia can make serious runs in the world group, especially if their top players are fully committed to D-Cup.

Bogdanovic's record is shocking. He's had 7 Wimbledon wildcards and gone out in the first round seven times. His Davis Cup record is just as bad. That first set against Melzer was the only set he's ever won in a live rubber!
Apparently he's a nice guy though.

Unlikely it will happen because both teams came through qualifiers and now play against a seeded team.

It is possible that they could both beat their respective seeded team next February, as Serbia and Switzerland are both quite strong when all their top players are commited.

LOL Make that 20000. That would be something.

I would like to see Fed dare to ask for linesmen change there

Yes he did it on Friday against Vleigen, after he was broken for the first time. I guess he didn't like the call and forced linesmen change.

I think that's the first time I've heard of that!

Did you see Tipsy a couple days ago?

:) Unfortunatelly didn't see that match, although I saved myself from some nerv-wracking moments. Still think Troicki should have played the single this time since he is healthier and more prepared at the moment, but shouldn't complain much since Janko won at the end.

On the side note Murray is up a set and a break. It will be interresting fifth rubber there.

Tipsarevic-Lacko was an amazing match for me,a real thriller(I'm so glad I recorded it,even though it ate up a lot of my hard disk).Loved that celebration in the end when he finally won it after having so many chances in the fifth set(he made some silly mistakes on a couple of MPs and had ton of BPs,some of them 3 in a row but had so much trouble to convert it)and coming back from 2 sets down.

Janko certainly showed a lot of heart in that one but I don't really think he should have played in the first place,as gj011 said above Troicki would have been a better choice as Janko was recently injured and was rusty because of lack of training and match play and Troicki was in pretty good shape(he reached his first ATP final recently in Washington and played very good at USO before running into the guy in your avatar).

Nevertheless it worked out great for my country in the end as our double Zimonjic-Troicki prevailed giving as a 3-0 lead(Djokovic also beat Hrbaty in the opener, played some quality tennis in that match),Troicki played amazing in that match while Zimonjic was a little off in that and didn't play up to his standards but nevertheless a good win especially considering the fact that Viktor and Zimonjic never played doubles together before that match.

Just as expected.Bogdanovic starts his match well and chokes and gives up after that:2-6 6-4 6-4 6-2 for Peya.Austria is in world group while Britain still search for a second player along Murray.

Bogdanovic is getting ripped apart by the media. I only saw small amounts of the game and mentally he looks like a 12 year old. I've never seen as little intensity from a player like that ever.

Yep, A-Bog has now lost seven straight Davis Cup rubbers, and seven straight Wimbledon first rounds (all wild-cards).
He just looked like the weight of the world was on his shoulders, the expectation was too high. He will get blasted in the papers tomorrow. It's a shame for him, as he is a nice guy, and it's not his fault that there is nobody else in Great Britain who can play elite tennis (after Murray), so it always falls back on him. Still he should've been more competitive today against a guy like Peya.
