I'll give a few examples.

Djokovic 2021 had to deal with peaking Medvedev and Zverev on HC, Nadal and Tsitispas on clay.
Nadal 2019 had to deal with Djokovic, Federer, peaking Thiem and even Medvedev on HC

Peaking med who can't make it past 4th round in wimpy or RG.

Tsitsipas,Zverev were never a threat. The only threat was thiem and Stan but only at their best. The player who consistently challenged challenged them was peak Murray and Old Fed. That's it after that it has been a career inflation era
