Djokovic now says he'll play USO if he doesn't have to quarantine

Just as an aside, Barcelona has locked down again because of surging COVID cases. I realize that's 500 miles from Madrid, but it raises the question if any real tennis is going to be played for the rest of 2020:

These tournaments afford a great opportunity to see if a tournament can be safely held.

Not a Djoker tournament. But a tournament following strict safety protocols. With no fans.

If we cannot get 64 players together and conduct a tournament without spreading infection then we know that we are in big trouble.

If it can be done successfully, it gives us hope for success at the U.S. Open.

But if you have no crowds at the venue, the number of cases don't really matter....
You can lockdown the public while still hosting the tennis.

That is true. The number of new cases at a tournament following strict safety protocols, will be miniscule in comparison to the total number of new cases in the country.

You are much safer playing in a properly run tournament then you are going to a crowded grocery store.

If Djoker shows up, Rafa shows up.

No way the defending champion Rafa sits at home and watches Djoker capture #18 in NYC.

If he does, it would be a huge cowardly mistake. Does not matter that skipping the U.S. and winning the French might arguably be the higher percentage play.

True GOATs simply do not think like that. GOATs like Djoker take on the challenge of winning BOTH within one month!

That is the mindset of a champion.

With Covid around that's Goat stupidity.
