do you ever tie-off cross on cross anchor?

I just strung Wilson prostaff 95 16x19 with 4 knots pattern and when I finished crosses waving I end up with no wide grommet for tie off. I tried to push it through all normal grommets to tie off on any main anchors but no success. So I finished it on main with wide grommet (where I tied-off mains). But it looks strange with two tie off knots - unprofessional let's say. Question is: would it be possible to tie off on cross anchor - I found wider cross grommet but I was not sure if it will hold the tension. I know two knot pattern would be without problems but in this case hybrid not allowing. How do you solve this?

Some of the Wilson frames have the bottom cross tie off on a cross when doing 2 piece stringing. This is the case I believe with that frame.

Pro Staff 6.1 95 bottom cross ties off at 11T. That's a cross string.

EDIT: The 16 main racket ties off at 11T the 18 main version ties off at 13T.

great to know, thanks.. I just was not sure it will hold OK

That would depend of your knot and how well it is tied. Something tells me you're using a Double Half Hitch and not tying it well. That could be a problem. Get away from that DHH knot.

On some frames the tie off locations make me wonder what the designers were thinking (run an extra long length of string on the outside of the frame to tie off on a tight spot or near the center mains for example)...

Graphene Prestige MP has it's cross string tied to the cross anchor as well (18th cross to be exact).

Tying off a cross on a cross is fine. On some racquets you may have to enlarge the grommet if you wish to do so. I have also seen string jobs with both cross knots tied on cross anchors, usually on gut/poly string jobs to avoid tying the poly on a gut main anchor string.

yes this is annoying too - I have feeling I lose some tension on the last one in this case because I cannot pull this extra piece, only by hand..

I did not have doubt about knot, just about anchoring it on cross instead of main. Never did it before. Now I know it is OK to do

My bad interpretation of post 4 then. I believe P1 strings Federers rackets so the cross strings (top and bottom crosses) are tied to a cross string. Both for his new racket and the ******* 90 versions.
