Do you get more pop on your shots when you play indoors?

Do any of you notice that your shots have more juice on them when you play indoors? Even my rally balls have more speed and my serve gets extremely powerful.

I do noticed that. I think its got to do with wind resistance and the feeling of closeness of the court. Outside, there is no roof and there is usually no net to stop the balls from rolling. And the sound rebounds from the wall makes it feels like you hit harder that you actually are

most indoor courts i play on play much faster than outdoor courts. the ball stays lower and retains more of its pace. when the ball hits the racket at a higher pace the power restitution, (amount of energy that is put back into my shot) is higher. therefore your shots will fly faster using the same power. when my regular partner and i play indoors, we normally have somewhere around 40 aces between us. the courts themselves probably play much faster, which makes the pace of the entire game faster

Could it just be that you associate the louder sound of hitting the ball with the ball going faster? Everyone sounds like a pro when hitting indoors, mentally it has to make you feel like you're hitting harder.

Indoor courts generally give you a nice clean backdrop so it's easy to see the ball clearly and judge it early. Some outdoor courts without windscreens have very mixed visuals of varying brightness in wich the path of the ball goess through varying degrees of visibility. Grass, parking lot, sidewalk, varying car colors, trees, flowers, people walking by, buildings, sky, water towers, list can really be endless. Seeing the ball clearly along with early preperation are amonng the factors of getting a clean hit on the ball. I don't know why this is but alot of the indoor facilities have very little grit on the surface. This is not true of all indoor facilities, just might be where I'm located. No wind or some of the other distractions that occur outdoors happen when your playing indoors.

Indoors is great, you can simply time the ball better and it's not just about lack of wind. Like a drummer using sound to hit the center of the snare, you have the added benefit of really being able to hear the ball hitting the strings, that loud pop.

Shots tend to be true, hard and fast.

I have found that big servers usually rule the indoors.

Part of the reason could also be that is easier to hit
overheads indoors w/o the wind and the ceilings sometimes
aren't super high so defensive lobs are worse.
