I mean pure MSM and not with GS/CS or another supplements. Apparently should reduce any joint inflammation in several days!

MSM applied topically or ingested? Any strong evidence of its effectiveness in either form? I believe that their are many more studies on GS or GS/CS than there are for MSM or for Glucoasmine HCl? Some studies seem to indicate some benefit with GS; others do not. WebMD indicates that GS is Likely Effective for OA while is indicates that MSM is Possibly Effective for OA.

As for topical MSM, it has been found that DMSO is able to penetrate skin/tissue and get into the bloodstream much more readily that topical MSM. DMSO is converted in MSM in the body. (PS: Never buy DMSO from a hardware store if intended for topical or medicinal purposes. It is not pharmaceutical grade. Too many impurities.).

Ingested. The second link you supplied. Heard from people I play with that they take it for long time and they think it 'helps a lot' with pain in knees, elbows etc...

Note that I provided the links so that you could see WebMD's take on the Effectiveness of GS vs MSM. This is listed under the USES tab for each.

It is possible that the use of a MSM supplement might be enhanced by also using DMSO topically at the desired joint. Alternately, topical MSM might be viable if used with Emu Oil or if used in a Liposome lotion. Other topical MSM products might not be very effective at all.

Warning: It is possible that mega-dosing with MSM might be detrimental to the liver or spleen. I suggest a bit of research on MSM and liver (or spleen) toxicity.

Thanks, SA. I'm not jumping on it. Many good references but I want to hear real experience from tennis players if anyone used this stuff.

Are you taking it in capsule form or the powder? I can say without a shadow of a doubt, it is one of the best supplements you can take, period.

MSM has a number of good health benefits. Sulfur is the 3rd most prevalent mineral in your body . Cartilage needs sulfur.
I mix Doctors Best MSM powder in water and drink it. This is OptiMSM version of MSM. I also mix MSM powder into my homemade tooth powder. And add a small amount to my salt mixture for use in a neti pot. Good stuff.
