Does size matter?

Are there studies out there regarding what racquet head size teenagers should use. I've had my kids use racquets from 95 to 100 (head size)

I think choosing the right head size depends on the height, strength and playing style of the kid.

What do you think, or have you seeb any studies?

Fixed

Aside from being a stickler on grammar, (sorry I feel a little tired) I think it depends on the kid's preference. Whatever they play best with is what they should use.

Uh... Nice title

I have not seen any studies, but since I play for HS, I have some experience. The frames used differ quite a bit. Most are using MP's, nobody uses mids, and a few use OS's. Generally speaking though, it's pretty hard to tell a 95 from a 98, and a 98 from a 100. If you can play well with a 100, you can probably play well with a 95.

How old are your kids? If they were ready for adult size racquets you can probably have them test it out. I think 98+ is a must, since I don't think there are many frames smaller than that, that is a fit for a kid.

Prince 03, PDR light ... types of frames are great for young talent. Also wilson frames like kpro open, or the ones that henin uses/used can also be utilized.

Well I find that with a bigger size I get a lot more penetration..

I used a 65 or so growing up, and the weight was about 13 or 14 oz. Anything bigger than that, and lighter would be good. Personally, I bought my 11 yr old daughter a Prince Blue 110 as a starter racket. She likes it a lot. Eventually, I plan on having her switch to a 100 by the time she plays HS team. (If she prefers to stay with 110, then no big deal)

When they have enough power, then we need to work on control, thus the smaller head size than the OS. My plan, and opinion, of course.
