'The tennis world has been shaken by Maria Sharapova's positive test for Meldonium. What is your say on this case and the Russian's reputation as an unpopular character in the players' locker room?'

'I was surprised that most of the reactions were so diplomatic, because everyone's opinion is actually totally different. I didn't make any statement, as I didn't want to be the only person to openly say what they think about this case. I will only say that I don't feel sorry at all for Sharapova and I don't miss her on the tour. She's a totally unlikeable person. Arrogant, conceited and cold. When I sit beside her in the locker room, she won't even say Hello.'

That's absurd. Dominicka is a phenomenal player for someone who is barely over 5 feet tall. She is in amazing shape and such a good example for young girls coming up.

Also, it doesn't cost anything to say hello to anyone else, even if you are the type of person that deems other people lesser than you.

We don’t know whether or not Sharapova said hello to Cibulkova in the locker room. What we do know is that the moment Sharapova got negative press, Cibulkova waltzed herself into the limelight to poor dirt over the much more accomplished woman.

Sharapova is a hard-working woman who overcame the Chernobyl grand accident adversity to work her way toward a great sporting and commercial success, associating with great men like Dimitrov and sharing her great success and wealth.

Some medicine got banned for some reason, Sharapova got ill press, so Cibulkova the journeyman meatball comes out shining on top of the expired pasta, congratulations.

It does appear that our debate may be poised to enter the area of diminishing returns, as an expert in economics might put it. I am pleased that we had this opportunity to exchange ideas in this thread and hope we can both learn from the experience and have an even more productive debate in the future.

Oh please, Sharapova herself has bragged about being unfriendly. Basically everything Domi has said, Maria was proud of when she was on top of the world. Now that she has run into some bad press, the players who she snubbed are supposed to act like they like her? And "the moment Sharapova got negative press," Domi didn't say anything. A month later, someone asks her point blank how she feels about it and she is truthful.

She was truthful because each time she rolled up to Sharapova begging for a slice of the pie, she was reminded that she was a mediocre meatball shaped journeywoman who needed to stay in her lane.

Funny how people are comparing cibulkovas career against sharapova's when domi has beaten her in the last 3 out of 4 matches and beat her on the way to her lone GS final in 2014. But i guess a person in the top 100 of their professional sport is expected to say some PR BS and get criticised for saying the truth.

Sure, Sharapova is a better player than Cibulkova, any moron can see that. If anything that would make Domi more likely to NOT say anything, to stay on her nice side. But since there is no nice side, she's probably thinking "F it, what do I have to lose?"

Why do people have to be so polite and correct these days? It is a sport, let's have some fun and tell it like it is. Reading this is fun, and not boring like other things. The only people defending Sharapova are men who like her looks. Her grunting is gross, her tapping her racquet between points is disrespectful. She is a basher tennis player with no finesse, but WTA these days is full of untalented mediocre players, so she stand out. She had it coming. Find me a post in which Sharapova said something nice about somebody.
