i just purchased an Allwood Bjorn Borg from the bay....received it yesterday, and hit with it last night. I, too, had one when I was a kid in the 80's....unfortunately, my temper led to the demise of that particular frame 
what a sweet frame! i have recently started to hit/play with woodies again, and i am really enjoying the experience.

What's your setup? Natural gut at, say, 40 lbs?

the racket was strung...nylon at a fairly loose tension....when i restring it, i will use natural gut, but will string it in the 50-55 lb range. don't want to go too high, as i don't want the hoop to cave in!

Man I loved my Allwood, the graphics were sweet. I even had the Bancroft one but broke it on an overhead (slipped.) Good memories. I was never a fan of the Borg pro, too stiff.

The bancroft borg personal played quite different than Bjorns Donnay allwoods and pro. Bjorns donnay pro was not the store model but a extremely stiff and heavy factory mod. Even the store model was very stiff with a small sweetspot, I can not imagine how Bjorn played the way he did with the modified pro strung at 80 lbs.
Heaps of these were sold in the 70's
Just came across this thread. Thanks for the great picture that really took me back down memory lane.
When I was a kid in the late '70s, the wealthier kids at the tennis club had the Borg Donnays and I still remember just "lusting" after those racquets. No other word actually...just wanting something so badly that you can feel it in your bones.
Eventually got a couple of Dunlop Maxply McEnroes in around 1982 when I was a pretty good high school player. They were nice, but always loved those Borg Allwood Donnays.
