Doubles sided tape for leather grips

Hey everyone,

Looking to get some advice on the best clear double sided sticky tape that you’ve used to install leather grips without tape on them such as Fairway leathers, Head Finest etc.
Thanks in advance.

I gave up and bought a staple gun after the grip kept sliding down while i was wrapping it tightly. I did it without the staple gun years ago and idk how.

If you go with double sided tape, I’d look into golf grip tape. You should get the smaller (maybe 1 inch width) variety because it’s designed to be wrapped around like a tennis grip. Just don’t wrap it around as tightly as a tennis grip. There should be space or gaps in the tape; think candy cane or look up a YouTube video on how it’s wrapped.

The wider (maybe 2”) tape is designed to be cut the length of the grip and then wrapped around; think Whatagrip in tennis terms. I suppose this could work also but would need two strips that might slightly over lap or not.

Either way, go with golf grip tape!

This video from small tape installation! It was a challenge to find this video because nearly everyone uses the wide stuff.

At 4:30 in on this video is how the wider tape is used.

I usually use scotch double sided but I wrap it on the racquet opposite of the direction of the leather. It's been 10yrs and my fairways haven't slipped at all
