Eagnas PT-270 Floor Stand for Pioneer DC+

I've done a thread search but couldn't find anything on this particular stand. Instead of the utility cart option, I want to find an actual stringer stand for my Alpha Pioneer DC Plus. Anyone have any idea if this stand would be compatible with the DC+? Thanks!

I have base from FLEX 740. There are four bolt holes that measure 17mm x 22mm. if that helps. If you have a similar holes on the bottom of your Pioneer, the other stands may work.

That PT-270 stand is for the electronic machines, Flex 854, Hawk 880 II, Hawk 880Le and Pro 845. Though the Pioneer DC+ has a similar base, you may need to ask someone for the dimension from one of those machines.

Doesnt alpha sell a stand for like 120$?

Dude, at least give me the benefit of the doubt that I first looked into the same company that actually makes my machine. Sheesh. That being said, I talked to Mark about it a couple times and other than suggestions for a utility cart or some other makeshift stand, there seems to be no actual stringer floor stands compatible for the Pioneer DC+.

Thanks for the bolt hole dimensions on your FLEX 740. I may need to pick up a stand and just drill new holes to make it work. I guess I was thinking that maybe I could get by with just resting the Pioneer DC+ on top of the PT-270 without having to permanently secure it. I still want to be able to move the entire unit around easily throughout my home. But I wonder if this setup would be too unstable.

The other floor stands available through Maxline seem to be all designed for specific machines like Lakers4Life pointed out, with the exception of this one:

I wonder if this one is more universal?

You'll need to secure it to the stand, the center of gravity is too high and may fall off or tip over. Check on the bottom of the base of your Pioneer, there might be bolt holes in the base.

If it makes any difference, I'll send you my Flex 740 base with locking hub (brake) for $10 plus shipping. Then you can mount it to the stand. PM me if you are interested. The 4 bolts for the locking hub are 37.5mm x 37.5mm or 51.0mm diagonal.

I have one of those, it works very well for the Eagnas Star Y12-3. I did bolt it down so it would not slip off, could break a toe if it landed on you. Big improvement over stringing on a table, plus the units are to heavy to lug around.

Hey barry ... so how did you bolt it down exactly? Sorry, I'm not a DIY kind of guy so this is all sort of beyond me. Haha. But I'm thinking this is the most viable option for me and I want to secure it as well. Did you bolt down from the feet of your base and drill holes into the base of the floor stand? Mark also suggested I use C-clamps to secure it down, but that would create new obstacles for string to get caught.

At the time I had a Wise unit mounted on my drop weight machine with a customer mount. It required me to drill holes in the machine and frame. I matched those holes to the stand and drilled them out. If the machine is flat on the bottom (minus the feet) you could center the machine on the stand and buy some very strong double sided cushioned adhesive tape (or sheets) and apply it to the underside of your machine. With the weight of the machine, and adhesive, it should not slip. Liquid Nail in the corners would hold it, but would be hard to get off.

Another option is to drill out the stand, where the feet are (you only need to drill 2 holes on the back side). Get some longer screws and attach it with lock washers on the bottom.

I agree minimal obstructions when stringing. You could start with a ratchet straps, and see how it goes

^^^^Thanks barry! I think this may be the route I take ... drill out the stand where the feet land and secure it with washers on the bottom. Eagnas charges $36 to ship the PT-270 floor stand, plus I was going to grab the caster wheels for mobility at 10 bucks a pop. This whole ordeal is going to run me nearly 200 bucks. Yikes!

I went by Sears yesterday with some measurements to go check out this cart:

I like that it's more compact than the Waterloo cart, but the sides come up too high and would interfere with the swivel mount. So, yeah, I'm taking your advice instead. Thanks!

from the looks of that cart, one could EASILY take the top tray off and flip it upside down, negating the problem you stated. I'd take a closer look at that option. Perhaps you'd have to drill a couple holes for the handle, perhaps a couple more. If it's a good deal, make it work!! looks good!!

edit: after looking, you already have a tool tray on the stringer, so you wouldn't miss a lot, plus you could mount a hook or few on the sides and/or legs for other tools, spools etc, not to mention the bottom shelf. perfect, IMO.

also, knowing Sears, you could order an extra tray and add it midway down the legs, BINGO!

not a DIY guy??? nothing, but drilling a few holes at most. one of your buddies would surely help (for a free stringjob).

how much is that baby?

I was at Costco a while back and noticed a wire mesh cart with wheels for about $40.

Before I got the stand, this was my setup.

I just moved it out from the wall. It did provide good storage and the wife found it attractive. I live in Florida and to much humidity to put it in the garage. Problem was string always got tangled and you had to lean over the table, with the stand you do not.

Best bet is buy a new machine already on a stand, but if you want to keep the current machine and you string a lot buy a stand it was a big improvement for me.

^^^^Holy telepathy. I just got back from Home Depot and picked up something that looks just like the second one. It's basically an adjustable wire shoe rack for 20 bucks and I bought the optional caster wheels too to give it more height and mobility. The stringer fits right on top without going through, and I'm hoping I can unscrew the legs of the base and re-apply underneath through the metal braces to secure it. If not, I have a couple bungee cords to wrap around it.

I just couldn't justify swinging 200 more bucks for an Eagnas stand with casters and shipping. So, I'm hoping this economical option will work out just fine. I'm putting it together now and will post pics when it's all said and done. Fingers crossed.

BTW ... the red utility cart from Sears is about 70 bucks. I couldn't find the Waterloo at Home Depot or Lowe's today. The Husky utility cart (used by another forum member for his Alpha Revo 4000) is the same as the Sears cart but in Dark grey and is available at Home Depot for 50 bucks. But, still the issue with the sides coming up too high. The top could probably flip over, but it just seems to me that the stringer would not be too stable up there. I could drill the holes, but you know, I'm lazy like that. Haha.

Alright, so I put together this new rig and already strung a racquet on it! It's a Commercial Grade 3-shelf Storage Unit from Home Depot that I picked up for $20. Each shelf can hold up to 250lbs and there are no obstacles in the way for string to get caught. I got the casters too, but didn't install them because the height is just right for me without them. Check it out:

I was able to unscrew the legs of the base on the Pioneer DC+ and re-install in between the metal bars on the top shelf. The stringer does not move at all:

I'm glad I was able to make this setup work for me. As much as I wanted to avoid something like this and get me a proper floor stand instead, I have to say this is much better for my home and storage. My wife approves as well. Haha. I'm going to return the casters tomorrow and pick up a couple hooks to hang off the side of the rack to hold reels.

Thanks everybody for your input. I really appreciate it!

Looks good, plus you have some storage.
