Early impressions of Roddick/Coria

It's 3-2 on serve in the first, and the two have already traded breaks. I many be wrong, but my early impressions of this match is that it is going to be very good. You may want to pop a tape in the VCR, or tune into CBS for this one.

Ballmachine, I agree completely with you. It's 5-5 now, and there have been some good rallies, god I love that Coria dropper. Coria is playing smart, and he's just rallying with Roddick a lot, that backhand can't hold out forever. He's coming to net, hitting droppers, keeping his own errors down, but Roddick is serving pretty well. I think Coria's gonna do this though, will go at least 4 sets.

Oh no! Coria has injured his back! The trainer is out there working on him now. This does not look good. Too bad, this one was getting very exciting. By the way, that Coria dropper is the best, by far, in the men's game. It is one thing to hit a dropper, it is quite another to hit so many for winners on the hard courts. He did not hit this shot as well against Gonzalez as he has so far today.

Start the tapes rolling again. Coria got some treatment and he's ready to go. I won't tell you what's going on, but I suggest that you buckle up your seat belts and enjoy the ride.

His back looks hurt again here, he's got the trainer out for the next change-over. Coria is literally serving at about 90-100 mph first serves. He's still running quite well, comon Coria.

Well that's another dissapointing final, the first set was amazing, Coria is very unlucky because if he wasn'e injured i'm sure that he would of won.

I dunno if he would have still won. I think injury may have (noticed I said "may") helped him win the first set the way he did. He was playing quite well and I think the injury rattled Andy a bit after that.

Andy started playing more aggressively in the 2nd and 3rd and really took it to Coria and throwed him around the court.

It would have definitely been a lot more interesting though of course.
