Eubanks shocks world to overcome legends of the strongest era in living memory

What Eubanks did today is nothing short of incredible. Tennis has come a long, long way from the weak era of the 2000's. The players, the shot making, the tactics are all so advanced now it's hard to believe there's room for surprises and upsets. To now have an established Challenger player beat a top-5 great of the game to secure a spot in the quarter final is truly incredible. The world is shocked!

We are so blessed to witness this era of tennis.

He's winning Wimbledon! :D

Let's calm down. He only beat Tsitsipas.
I'm not making an predictions, and surely he would struggle to even win a game against Earth's Mightiest Warrior. However, I wanted to make sure the Novak haters are on notice that this is more an incredible achievement of Eubanks than it is a statement on the current state of tennis (which is very high!).

This IS the weakest era of tennis.

Can’t remember the last time I was so happy to see a player do so well. Couple of weeks ago in an interview he said that Quartering Wimby was his all time goal and he wasn’t even sure if he could reach it, but it would mean so much. Got stuck in the challenger doldrums grinding it out for a while too. Hope he rolls on

Nadal used to repeatedly lose to no-names ranked outside the top 100 at Wimbledon, this is nothing new.

That was a monumental effort for Chris. He's certainly on a tear and has the belief. Grass suites him with the big serve, but never pegged him as a real contender. Solid.

Close, but maybe a tad far. Wondrous I will accept.

Eubanks; Challenger level player showing modern top 5 dirtballers how to play on grass. These 40 ball grinding rallies on grass should be banned by the Geneva convention. What a disgrace to the sport. Plus, Eubanks is actually likeable, unlike pretty much the entire top 10 minus Tiafoe and Rublev

It would be nice if new threads were moderated before they are posted. It would certainly clean up the boards from trash posts like this.

Take Ivanisevic outta there. First of all, he was a wildcard, not a qualifier. Second of all, he absolutely had demonstrated championship-winning talent in the past.

A career long challenger player without a real backhand and without a real return, just beat a top five “5 to 7 slams in any other era” mighty Greek philosopher.
