I read that fake US BLX90 have hollow grip with nails popping out if you take off the buttcap lid and look inside. Also fake US ones are lighter and more HH.

How about the Asian ones? How do you identify them?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Dennis, (its PS 85 Cooper here:))

I heard from a friend of mine that the fake Asian BLX90's comewith a non-Wilson Leather grip, A Wilson "W" dampener attached to the Leather, And some plasticy Chinese warranty card attached. Oh and apparently the Grommets on them are the late Ncode Wilson range grommets design.

Hope it helps

Legit BLX 90's can be either hollow or solid...I've seen both. The "nails" are used for handle length quality control. (According to a wilson rep.)

nails trough the hairpin on a legit racket? lol

I bought Wilson K six one 90 direct from Tennis Warehouse online. When I modified one of them, I opened the butt cap and I saw this silvery metal bar across inside the handle that looks like nail. I was cleaning up the foam with long screwdriver but it couldn't go far because the 'nail' bar was in the way.

I've been in that same boat...the inconsistency can make it difficult to customize. Most of the "nails" or "bars" I've seen have been covered up by foam.

Here is a recent fake with poly handle. Tells are

12 oz on throat not 12.0 oz
Wilson logo too low on hoop
No 3 letter factory code inside butt cap.
String spacing gets closer near PWS
End of bumper guard not flush with frame

Hollow handles on a 90? Are you sure?

Not all BLX 90's are same inside the handle...don't discourage it just because it's "hollow". I've seen a variety of handles that came directly from wilson. I can't say I've seen one that is 100 percent hollow but I have definitely seen ones that could use some more foam. Anybody whose bought or customized wilson sticks knows their quality control to be extremely loose.

Perhaps hollow wasn't the best wording but I hope you get my drift.
